Internships and Academic Seminars
Internship Supervisor’s Final Assessment
As part of its ongoing assessment of the intern’s progress toward the achievement of their academic, professional, civic, and leadership
goals, The Washington Center requires an assessment of each intern’s performance as it compares to other entry-level professionals in the
field. Please meet with the intern and discuss your general overview of his/her performance to date. Your comments should reflect the
intern’s level of progress since the beginning of the internship.
Please note that since The Washington Center uses a portfolio system of evaluation, the final grade that you recommend is considered
along with other assignments to form the basis of the final internship program grade that is recommended to the intern’s campus liaison/
faculty advisor.

Since the mid-term assessment, Caroline has continued her duties in show recruitment for both BakuBuild
and Milipol. She is involved in strict record keeping on both shows. She has completed multiple tasks on
DSEI to be held in September in London. The prickly part of the DSEI assignment is the shipping issues
which she has mastered the instructions and sent to all participants. She had a large role in the
presentation to the fashion community on 19 July. As a result of our efforts, we have generated several
strong leads and are following up. In addition, we have had top level meetings with VPs and corporate
officers at multiple companies. She has made a site visit to a cut and sew operation and is writing a report.
Caroline's efforts have directly dovetailed with the efforts of the organization. We work with US companies
to increase their competitiveness through training, educating on exports and matchmaking within the US
textile community for complementary products thus helping to create a better product, speed to market and
an exportable US made product. These opportunites have resulted from follow up at Techtextil trade
show, meetings here at the office, presentation to the fashion community, marketing to the textile audience
of three shows: namely, DSEi, BakuBuild and Milipol. Caroline has been involved in both off-site meetings
as well as high level meetings in the office. Follow up, lead tracking and writing skills are huge assets.

Caroline has been tasked with a host of new skills and job demands. In addition to juggling records of
multiple trade shows and meetings, Caroline is assisting with the development and data search and input
for my annual trade show/travel budget. She has mastered many tasks for which good university training
has set the groundwork to explore, expand and exploit her training. Her writing skills are excellent, her
knowledge of, understanding and computer training are excellent and proven extremely beneficial in our
presentations and record keeping. Analytical thinking is critical to the job and she has exceeded in this
arena. She was prepared and ready to be "trained" in the job and for the many tasks the job demands.
5
Caroline is well liked, appreciated and valued by both office staff and clients. She interfaces seamlessly
with all levels of staff and has an assured, yet, very personable presence at meetings and in her daily
contact with clients of all levels and ranks. Based on my travel schedule, Caroline has often been literally
"left in charge" of my office and handled the tasks and clients perfectly. She understands the work culture
and its demands. This is a very fast-moving and demanding work environment and she has performed and
functioned well in it. She exhibited appropriate initiative and assertiveness in her tasks.
5
Caroline is confident in expressing her knowledge in both intimate office meetings and in broader meeting
settings. She presents the information with solid researched background and convincingly states the
reasons for her statements. Confidence and conviction of the cause are critical to good delivery of the
"argument". She is equally confident in written communication and has been an asset in presenting our
responses on many issues. She seemed fully aware of the mandatory TWC commitments and has
followed up with meetings, tutoring and required class time and assignment demands.

Caroline has proven to be a tremendous asset in both research and data arrangement. It is not unsual to
juggle multiple spreadsheets, trade shows and follow up on databases all on the same day and even in the
same hour. Task management is critical to a successful day's work. She keeps a daily list and we work
from a daily/weekly action item list. Pressure can be intense here and time-lines short. She has functioned
well in all these situations. The weeks of work here condition you to be sharp and organized and she has
learned well. Tasks have been completed and sound judgement demonstrated.
5
Caroline has excelled in data interpretation, management, compilation and interpretation. Her problem
solving skills are exceptional given age and work experience and she is able to make swift, accurate and
on target decisions. She is creative in both her approach to problem solving as well as in the delivery of
the presentation, answers to issues, research and interpretation. She has been quick to comprehend the
tasks and issues and interpret the information and data and deliver an excellent assessment or
spreadsheet--whichever task the project warranted.
The only area of improvement is sporadic tardiness
