How-To-Take-a-Vision-and-make-it-Reality
1. How to take a Vision and Make it a Reality
by Bobby Malatia
Do you have a vision for something that you think will work within in your Internet
Department but have not done anything to achieve it? Or a better question might be
have you ever been to a training presentation or heard someone speak about their
Internet Department and thought to yourself that is a great idea, I can do that, but
you still have not done it? This is not unusually. It actually comes from our instant
gratification nature which breeds a misunderstanding that you can go from 0 to 60 in
1 second. Unfortunately, I do not care how fast your car is this cannot be done.
Now the typical scenario for most of us is we never even started working towards
getting that great idea going or we started it but it fizzled away because we had
other things going on. This happens because we realize it is going to take longer
than one day to make it happen, and of course we want it right now. I want to share
with you how you can better accomplish making the changes that need to be made
in order to implement those great ideas.
There are three areas to implementing your ideas and they are as follows.
1. You have to see the vision. You have to have, or hear about, or experience
the epiphany that is the great idea.
2. Once you have your vision you need to set a goal that puts a realistic
timeframe on completing the work that needs to be done to make everything
happen. The goals will guide you as to how you are progressing through the
implementation of everything. When setting your goal be realistic on what it
will take to make the change or the work it will require putting the
information together to get everything set up for what you are trying to
do. Whether your goals are based on hours, days, or months you need to
understand that it is okay if you cannot set it by snapping your fingers.
3. You have to work the idea while you are implementing it. Do not wait until
everything is perfect before you start bringing your idea to life. Allow it to
grow while you are nurturing it and you will find that the successes will be
coming much more quickly as a result.
As an example of this, one of my clients looked at some of the things they wanted to
do better for this New Year and realized that they have been discussing it for several
months with no actions. They then decided to set a goal and start immediately
working towards it spending just 15-20 minutes a day on the tasks. Of course while
putting this all together and are also keeping focused on the answering of leads
following there process and selling cars. Thus far they are half way through putting it
all together and have already created a few additional sales from their effort, as well
as almost doubling their lead volume through the source they are focusing on. Once
2. they have put it all together there is no doubt that it will provide even greater
successes.
Now I do want you to notice that I have not mentioned anything specifically about
the ideas themselves. I have purposely done this to draw your attention to the
tasks around the idea and how they are just as important as the idea. It does not
matter if we are talking about vehicle descriptions, photos of vehicles, pricing of
vehicles, or a process for your team, etc. The key is to take these ideas, whatever
they may be, and implement them around a sound strategy that goes from Vision, to
Goals, to Immediate Implementation in order to create successes as soon as
possible.
Hope you have a great sales day today!
