MARKET WRAP
Indian market ends on flat node, gains around 0.3% throughout week.
U.S Manufacturing PMI came at 49.0 while Unemployment Claims came at 409 K.
Global markets ended down for 2nd consecutive week & Asian losing 0.5 to 2.5%

Indian markets performed well during the week, the benchmark indices continued to
surge higher until a selloff of Friday. Global cues were mixed, but Indian market
remained steady. Next week will be full of major domestic events, with IIP, Inflation, RBI
meet and Advance Tax data the important ones. Nifty and Sensex both gain around
0.3%. Bank Nifty this week has gained around 1%. Nifty has a crucial support at 4800
breaking which can test the level of 4600, while its resistance is at around 5200.

India's food price index rose 9.55% & the fuel price index climbed 12.55% to the week
ended Aug 20. In the previous week, annual food & fuel inflation stood at 10.05% and
12.55% resp. The primary articles index was up 13.34%, compared with an annual rise
of 12.93% a week earlier. The RBI remains bent on fighting domestic inflation, which
stood at 9.22% in July, despite weakening global conditions. The RBI, makes its mid-
quarter review on Sep 16 with experts saying RBI may go in for another rate hike.

U.S stocks tumbled on Friday after the top German official at the European Central
Bank resigned in protest of the bank's bond-buying program, which has been a major
tool in fighting the region's debt crisis. European markets lost 2% to 6% with DAX worst
while U.S markets lost around 0.5% to 2.2% with Nasdaq ending down 0.5% while
DJIA losing 2.2% & S&P 500 losing 1.7%. Asian markets this week remains down with
Hang Seng down 1.7%, Nikkei down 2.4% & Seoul down 3%.
