1. ACTORRESEACH Jamie Taylor
Jamie is a skilled actor who takes A Level drama. He has performed in multiple of the
Sidmouth Youth Theatre performances which has built him up as an actor.
Jamie is also an A Level media student which means he understands the importance of
keeping to conventions which could show through his acting if I decided to choose him. As
he is also creating his own music video, this means he also understands time
management.
On the other hand, this means that Jamie would most likely be unavailable due to the
construction of his own video and trying to reach other deadlines. I also believe that
Jamie is unfamiliar with the alternative genre that my song consists in. Jamie is creating an
EDM music video of which these are two completely different genres and this could
reflect in his acting as I wish to keep to familiarity to make my video as conventional as
possible.
Another difficulty with Jamie is that his style of clothing is very “trendy” and “fashionable”
in nature so I would have to supply additional clothes for him to wear which means
possibly having to increase my budget for this video.
2. ACTORRESEACH Cameron Retter (Myself)
Having performed in multiple Sidmouth Youth Theatre productions and taking GCSE
drama, I feel like I have enough acting knowledge to be able to create a believable
character. This is why I have also considered myself as an option, because not only can I
create this character within my video but as the character I can also express any additional
expressions that may need be to make this character believable.
Another benefit of using myself is time management. This is beneficial because I know
what I want to get out of my video and know the conventions which I can try to convey
which will be easier to express than to explain to a different actor.
However, I think that using myself would also be a disadvantage. This is because I feel like
there are better actors of whom I could use such as an A level drama student or someone
who is more familiar with the genre than myself.
3. ACTORRESEACH Tim Middleton
Tim is an ex-student and left last year. An advantage of using Tim to act is that he is highly
available. This is extremely helpful when it comes to time management. Tim can also drive
which means getting to locations will be much quicker as the original plan is to walk to the
locations.
Tim doesn’t have any acting background however. This means I am unsure on how good
he is at portraying a character. This raises a problem as I want the character to be
believable and not anything half-worked.
Tim however does have a varied style of clothing which could deem beneficial if I choose
to use him. This variety of his clothing allows for possible changes in my original plans for
this video costume-wise which could improve the overall outcome.
On the other hand, Tim runs his own business so overall Tim being used and me taking
him away for a few hours for a few days might not be the best thing for Tim.
