A mixture is a combination of two or more
substances that are not chemically
combined. The substances are put together
but no new substance is formed. It can be a
combination of solid and solid matter,
liquid and another liquid matter, solid and
liquid matter, solid and gas matter, gas and
liquid matter or even gas and gas matter.

solution of salt and water,
coffee and water, sand and
gravel, different gases, air and
many more. In any mixture, the
various components do not
combine through any kind of
chemical change. Therefore,
the components do not lose
their individual properties.
