Editor's Notes
the NEW family of closed circuit coolers (click), the eco-ATW and eco-ATWE offer Environmentally Conscious Operation Featuring Water and Energy Conserving Technology
CB TALKING POINTS:-Finned coils were available in the past but were only available on round tubes, not elliptical tubes. This difference is a big deal! Round tubes offered dry performance with 3 major drawbacks -EXPENSIVE: Each round tube that was finned was hand welded into a coil circuit. Over 100 hand welds per row of finned tube -LIMITED # OF ROWS: Fins impeded air flow so only 5 rows were available on induced draft equipment. More rows on Forced draft equipment BUT required increased HP -NO IMPROVED WET PERFORMANCE: Fins only guaranteed better dry performance, not wet. -Elliptifin coils overcome all 3 of these shortcomings! -REDUCED COST -ALL ROWS FINNED -IMPROVED WET PERFORMANCE Building on the original patented Thermal-Pak Coil, Evapco’s revolutionary Ellipti-Fin coil technology is the heart of the new eco-cooler product family. As you know, only round tubes were finned…. Now, elliptical tubes are finned! The fins, are applied to EVAPCO’s Thermal-Pak elliptical tubing prior to hot-dip galvanizing. The eco-cooler family features ALL rows of the coil finned as standard.
The new eco-ATWE is designed for additional Water Savings and incorporates a third mode of operation called the Water Efficient mode.(Click)The eco-ATWE introduces simultaneous wet and dry operation for water and energy savings.(Click)The eco-ATWE also has two pumps, two water distribution systems and of course two coils… and an air tight partition to separate the wet and dry operating modes. This design allows the unit to operate in three modes, Evaporative, Water Efficient and the Dry Mode.[CLICK]

Let’s highlight some of these additional features. CLICKSince each coil features it’s own dedicated water distribution system, the eco-ATWE is available on multi-coil units only.CLICKAs you can see, each coil has an independent pump and water distribution system. In this picture only pump A is in operation.CLICKBoth coils are completely separated by an air tight partition that begins above the drift eliminators in the fan section and ends just above the pan bottom.CLICK
