6. ENHANCEMENTS:
Trimming Sketched Entities
In trim dialog box two new check boxes are added.
1.)Keep trimmed entities as construction
geometry
The Keep trimmed entities as construction geometry check
box if selected converts the trimmed entities into
construction geometry.

7. ENHANCEMENTS:
2.)Ignore trimming of construction
geometry
If the Ignore trimming of construction geometry check box
is selected, it leaves construction geometry unaffected
when you trim entities.

8. ENHANCEMENTS:
Creating Fillets
New checkbox “Partial Edge Parameters” added in Fillet
dialog box.
Creating Partial Fillets
We can create partial fillets of specified lengths along the
model edges. The Manual tab of the Fillet
PropertyManager contain the Partial Edge Parameters
rollout where we can specify parameters. This option is
available only for constant size fillets.

New Icon under mates node in Feature
Manager Design Tree
•The icon under the Mates node in FeatureManager
Design Tree indicates the locked rotation concentric mates.

10. ENHANCEMENTS:
Adding Custom Properties in Assembly or
Sub-assembly
We can include custom properties in an opposite-hand
mirror assembly or subassembly. Ondoing so, a link gets
established between the mirrored assembly and the
original assembly.
Custom properties include global properties and
configuration-specific properties.

11. ENHANCEMENTS:
New type of view in Drawing environment
Removed Section View
A removed section view is used to show the sections of the
model at selected locations in the drawing view.
The Removed Section tool is used to create views of slices
in a drawing view.

12. ENHANCEMENTS:
Deleting Holes from Surfaces
The Delete Hole tool is used to delete holes from a surface
or any closed contours that cut surface. The empty area of
the selected edge will be patched and the tangency and
curvature with the surrounding surfaces will be maintained.

13. ENHANCEMENTS:
Creating a Surface Cut
We can also cut a solid body by using a surface using
surface cut tool.

14. ENHANCEMENTS:
Toolbox
You can temporarily disable the automatic update of mates
between a Toolbox component and a non-Toolbox
component by clearing Automatic Update for Toolbox
Mates.
By disabling the automatic update, you can improve
performance by making it quicker to edit mates, add mates,
and manipulate components.

Use material sheet metal parameters
check box in base flange dialog box in
sheet metal environment
This check box is used to link the custom material
parameters with the sheet metal parameters.

16. ENHANCEMENTS:
Link GroupsTogether check box in Table
and Slot dialog box In sheet
The Link Groups Together check box is used to link groups
of tab and slot features together so that all parameters
apply uniformly to the features. If we edit a parameter for a
linked group, all tabs and slot features in the group get
updated accordingly.

17. ENHANCEMENTS:
Use material sheet metal parameters

We can also use the custom material parameters by
selecting the Use material sheet metal parameters check
box in the Sheet Metal Parameters From Material rollout to
define custom material properties.

18. OTHER ENHANCEMENTS:
• The SOLIDWORKS 2019 Installation Manager uses new
download methods that can deliver up to twice the
download speed compared to SOLIDWORKS 2018 and
earlier. The new download methods also provide a
solution in cases where the Installation Manager failed to
download installation files.
• Performance when creating, opening, and editing hole
tables has improved for large numbers of holes and for
the combination of circular and noncircular holes.

19. OTHER ENHANCEMENTS:
• SOLIDWORKS 2019 uses a new graphics architecture
for parts and assemblies. This architecture provides a
more responsive, real-time display especially for large
models.
• There are improvements in overall stability and
performance while solving a simulation, especially for
linear static studies with multiple load cases.
