I wrote a biography on my mom because she is basically an older and wiser me, but her childhood wasn't exactly as easy. Lashae Damore Bibbins
was born on March fifteenth, 1970 in Los Angeles California at the UCLA Medical Center. She was born on her dad's birthday and unfortunately, the

'A Mother' is one of the short stories that is part of James Joyce's literary masterpiece Dubliners. The themes that run through this short story, and
indeed the book itself, are: Simony, Gnomon and Paralysis. 'A Mother' is written in third person omniscient narration and focuses mainly on the point
of view of Mrs Kearney. Who is, as I will try to justify further on, a serial simoniac and a victim of social convention.
The first example of Mrs Kearney's simony is her marriage to Mr Kearney, a bootmaker, who is far older than her. Shemarried, not for love, but in
order to keep her status in society respectable: "her friends began to loosen their tongues about her she silenced them by marrying" (pg 153) Another

Paralysis casts a dark shadow over this story. Characters who I believe to be the most affected are Mr Kearney and Mrs Kearney herself. He is
paralysed by his stale marriage and ruled by her. It is notable that he does not speak throughout the entire story. When Holohan tries to evoke a
reaction from him concerning his wife's behaviour he merely "continued to stroke his beard" (pg 164) He is paralysed and is unable to speak or
do much of anything other than his wife's bidding. Mrs Kearney is paralysed by the end of this story. She has lost everything she has been striving
for by her own folly. She is shunned by society whom I believe Joyce has used Mr O'madden Burke to represent. I was led to believe this due to his
'moral umberella' (pg 164) which in the end of the story, as Mrs Kearney is broken and humiliated, he is 'poised upon...in approval' (pg 168)

I have learned a lot about success from my daughters. For example, I watched them learn to walk. They weeble, they wobble and fall down. But no
matter how many times they fall, they get up and try again. It has taught me that no matter what obstacles occur, if I just continue to try I can and will
succeed.
My daughters are my motivation to succeed. Each day I work very hard to provide for them. Some days I really just want to give up. I don't want to

My Most Important Mentors In My Life : My Mother
I could say I have many mentors in my life, but my most important mentor is my mom. A mentor to me is someone who critically guides you
through your life decisions and provokes endless learning from their life experiences and wisdom. The only person who meets my idea of a
mentor is my mom. I have known her since birth and have always felt loved and cared by her. She gives me every tool I could possibly need to

Two of my favorite works is the "Migrant Mother", by Dorothea Lange taken in 1936 and Arthur Sasse's "Einstein with his tongue out." Both pictures
are portraits and vividly express the emotions the people where feeling. The migrant mother and Einstein give off two completely different moods.

Growing up I've always had my mom and my grandmother taking care of me but, at times my mom would always have to work and I hated it. My
mom worked late hours or went in early in the morning. Everyday I always wondered why did she have to leave, why couldn't she just stay home

They talked just long enough for my father to get what we wanted out of the deal. Shortly after, she discovered that she was pregnant with me. I think
it 's so funny now because my father likes to say "I just blew on your mom, and she got pregnant. I don 't know how that happened." During my mother
's pregnancy, she discovered a lot of things about my father that would make the average woman infuriated. She found out that he already had a

Being a mom is so funny. It's funny and ironic. Its lots of things, but in my most humble opinion (thus far), funny and ironic are the most accurate
