I grew up in a relatively religious family, however while I attended Catholic school, my family allowed me to form my own opinions and never
forced me to think a certain way. In Catholic school I took religion class and we primarily learned about the history of Catholicism. There was never
much debate or discussion about the existence of God. My teacher quickly shut down any questions that even remotely question the core beliefs of
Catholicism. Without a sound explanation for why I should belief and also probably because of recent social trends I was skeptical of God's existence.
However, this year I learned about several logical arguments in that support and against the existence of God. I have come to the conclusion that there is
something greater than people, which created or prompted the creation of the universe. Something must have prompted the start of the universe and
created life. Despite the fact that I am not confident that there is caring or intervening God, I believe that God exists. Plantinga's, Richard Swinburne's,
and Thomas Aquinas' arguments convinced me to be more open and less skeptical in God's existence.
Like theism, atheism is a belief that is not certain. Atheists can propose theories with logical reasoning but they do not know for a fact that God does

My Personal Experience Of God

My personal experience of God is based on my life experiences and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I have experienced God's presence in my
life and I have felt the Holy Spirit guiding me. I first felt God's call as a teenager and prayed that one day I would become a pastor. But my new
Christian faith was not strong enough and I soon succumbed to the desires of this world. I refused to recognize God's call and it took decades for
God's prevenient grace to bring me back into fellowship with God's Son. More than a decade ago I felt God's call again but this time in a completely
different way. This time my faith was strong and I had that personal relationship with God's Son. During my Emmaus Pilgrim Walk in 2007 my
teenage prayers came back to me. Calmness overcame me like none I had ever experienced and for the first time in my life I knew that God had set me
aside for this purpose. I felt God's call in a way I had never felt before and I knew that the Spirit had been preparing me all these years to become a
pastor. I realize now that God saw me as I could be, not what I was at that time! God never gave up on me and I now believe that God answered my

Who is God? Is a question I can easily imagine a kid asking an adult and the latter replying with God is our creator, or God is an old bearded guy up in
the sky watching over us, or even God is a supreme immortal creator deity that certain people believe in. All those responses are different because
those replies are based upon that person's beliefs and values. There is no single correct answer to who or what is God . An answer to the question "Who
or what is God?" can reveal how a person views God and religion. This past semester my answer to "who or what is God?" and "how can I relate to
God?" has grown in depth of understanding and how I relate to God.
At the start of the semester my general view of God was that he was this omnipresent being that was nothing but everything at the same time. Way
back when I was in middle I remember I was reading the Bible in mass and had come across a passage of God talking to Moses in the form of a bush
on fire but was not being consumed by the flames. "There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that
though the bush was on fire it did not burn up ." 1
So even when I was younger I sort of had this image of God being anything, like a person, an animal, or a plant, or more specifically speaking through
those things. Going back to the beginning of this semester, I considered myself somewhat knowledgeable or at least had some experience with theology

Christians claim that their concept of God is found in the Bible. Known as classical theism, this view of God has long been considered the orthodox
theistic position of the Western world. Though there are numerous divine attributes that we could examine, for our present purposes it is sufficient to
say that the God of classical theism is at least (1) personal and incorporeal (without physical parts), (2) the Creator and Sustainer of everything else that
exists, (3) omnipotent (all–powerful), (4) omniscient (all–knowing), (5) omnipresent (everywhere present), (6) immutable (unchanging) and eternal,
and (7) necessary and the only God.
Let us now briefly look at each of these attributes.

incapable of acting in a less than perfect way – which would include sinning, ceasing to exist, and being ignorant.
When the classical theist claims that God can only do what is logically possible, he or she is claiming that God cannot do or create what is logically
impossible. Examples of logically impossible entities include "married bachelors," "square circles," and "a brother who is
an only child." But these are not really entities; they are merely contrary terms that are strung together and appear to say something. Hence, the
fact that God cannot do the logically impossible does not in any way discount His omnipotence.
Also counted among the things that are logically impossible for God to do or create are those imperfect acts mentioned above which a wholly perfect
and immutable being cannot do – such as sin, lack omniscience, and/or cease to exist. Since God is a personal, incorporeal, omniscient, omnipresent,
immutable, wholly perfect, and necessary Creator, it follows that any act inconsistent with these attributes would be necessarily (or logically)
impossible for God to perform. But this fact does not count against God's omnipotence, since, as St. Augustine points out, "Neither do we lessen
