Popular Thesis Statement
A thesis statement is determined usually based off of what kind of paper you are writing. The popular thesis statement is the argumentative, which a
person would have to state a claim and choose a position. Knowledge problems differs by size; Basically, knowledge problems are broad statements
and without a single, simple definition to be stated. In addition, knowledge problems are a form of point of view, or written on basis of how one feel
about a situation. Awriter could write and make an excellent thesis statement with a few points. First, make sure the argument(s) reflect the main idea.
Next, make sure the statement is clear and specific as possible. In addition, Thesis statements should not be depth in one's' writing assignment. Finally,

The chemical poisoning in water have a great impact on humans because it can cause brain damage and physical deformities in unborn fetuses.
Pollution disrupts the natural food chain as well. Pollutants such as lead and cadmium are eaten by tiny animals. Later, these animals are consumed by
fish and shellfish, and the food chain continues to be disrupted at all higher levels. Eventually, humans are affected by this process as well. People can
get diseases such as hepatitis by eating seafood that has been poisoned. Besides, Water pollutants introduce abnormal conditions (harmful chemicals,
changes in water temperatures) into water bodies, disrupting existing ecosystems and can potentially contribute to reducing biodiversity in that affected
area – one of the effects of water pollution. For example, the discharge of heated–up water from thermal and nuclear power plants into a river can cause
problems for aquatic organisms, which are fairly used to specific temperatures. The increase in water temperatures could increase their metabolic rates
and hence their need for food. This could eventually lead to the depletion of food sources in that water region and in turn cause a reduction in species
population in that water region. Besides thermal pollution, water could also be polluted via the entry of acidic substances into the water bodies
through rivers, seas and oceans. The effects of water pollution by this process, known as

Thesis Statement
I have been an international student at California State University Easy Bay (CSUEB) for almost four years, and during the stay I have learned far
more than I expected. I came to CSUEB already deciding to be a financial analyst in the future. However, I realized that I have to meet the University
Writing Skills Requirement (UWSR) before graduation. With only four years of studying in English, I have many problems in Englishwriting. After
failing the Writing Skills Test, I took an English writing class, which has taught me how to write logically and proficiently. Thus, I should pass this
class and satisfy the UWSR because my collection of essays in the portfolio shows that I made a great improvement in thesis statements composition,
development of ideas, and organization.
To begin with, I have improved tremendously on writing a thesis statement. The thesis statement can be the most significant sentence in an essay. In
my past, I always composed an unclear and unsupported thesis failing to present my augment to the readers. With the help of a tutor, I learned that an
effective thesis should have a clear position supported by reasons. I revised the thesis of out of class essay 2 many times to ensure it can present my
position clearly and specifically on the issue of...show more content...
It is an inseparable part of an English essay. I was confused about how to find evidence to support my claim. After taking this class, I understood
that an idea can be developed through providing sufficient and convincing credible sources, personal examples, and reasons. Take out of class essay 1
as an example. When developing my idea of the positive sides of a college degree, I provided data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, personal work
experience, and a credible article for the New Yorker Magazine to explain and support my claim. Hence, I believe that I made an incredible progress
on the development of

Effective Thesis Statement
The elements of a thesis are generally stated in a single sentence. A topic is not covered in a thesis, but opinions are expressed. A thesis indicates that
there is support to follow, and often organizes supporting material. Effective thesis statements are precisely worded to draw in the audience. The
location of a thesis is very important because if it appears at the opening of the essay, it starts the essay off with a strong statement providing clear
direction and an outline of the supporting evidence. If a thesis statement appears in the middle it allows the writer to introduce the subject and guide
the reader into accepting a thesis that is explained, as well as defended. The thesis being presented at the end allows the writer to close the thesis with
a strong statement. The types of evidence that can be used in a thesis vary from personal observations to statistics. Evidence should support a...show

How to Write Academic Papers
Academic Writing Academic Writing Most of us have written several essays in our entire academic career, from primary level up to graduation
and university. Starting from small and very simple essays; we come a long way in writing essays in our specialized and chosen field of study,
whether it would be philosophy, sports, sciences or any other subject. Some students take essay writing as a fun, a mental activity that enhances
their knowledge and boost up their energy levels, while some take it as a burden and get frustrated of it. The reason is very simple; the former
ones either have flair of writing naturally or they simply enjoy and like the entire procedure, while the later do not have enough potential for
gathering ideas and to compile them in an attractive way is a very hard job for them. For a student of every grade and age, it is important to have
necessary writing skills so that he/she may become able to get good grades for his/her assignments and term papers. The essays can be of any
kind; these can simply be descriptive, argumentative (for or against essays), opinion essays and the requirement of the essay must be fulfilled in
order to achieve good marks and repute. For this purpose, it is necessary to have some Basic English essay writing skills so that essay writing
becomes no more an impossible task rather a fun and excited thing to do. 1.First of all, it is important that either you yourself select a topic upon
which you have to write the essay, or your

Summary Of Terry Tempest Williams 'Why I Write'
"Why I Write" Essay In Terry Tempest Williams' essay, "Why I Write," she uses metaphors to represent the risk of being criticized while writing, but
also having the courage to publish anyway. She tells the audience about how writing can be very risky when she states, "I write knowing I can be
killed by my own words, stabbed by syntax, crucified by both understanding and misunderstanding" (Williams 7). Williams uses metaphors to represent
that people will criticize whether they know the true meaning of what you're writing or not. In the example related to being killed by own words, you
can tell that she is trying to show that any type of criticism will hurt you deeply no matter how much they know you or not. You can also see from
the citation that she is trying to show off an example of courage because it says that you're crucified by both understanding and misunderstanding and
that means that they might just be saying what they are, just to say it, but you have to learn to move past it because nevertheless, people will be
cruel and you have to persevere through it. Williams displays in this example that writing is a risky experience and everything can hurt you from the
quote, "and then I realize, it doesn't matter, words are always a gamble, words are splinters from the cut glass" (Williams 7). In this instance, Williams
uses metaphors to show that writing is a big risk; she also compares it to the words hurting. Her use of metaphors really captivates this idea of risk by
comparing it to a gamble and that the words can hurt by the comparison to splinters from glass which can lead into my next point. You also can see
from this citation when it talks about it not mattering and that is showing that no matter what anybody says, you should have confidence in yourself
and just publish anyway because there are going to people who like it and people who criticize it, but you just have to have confidence in yourself
and put it out there and just write to write. "Why I Write," by Terry Tempest Williams, is anessay that elaborates on the idea that people will criticize
and realm of work in the world, but you must learn that despite what people may think, it's your own personal confidence that is going to help you

What is a Hero? Essay
What is a Hero? There are many types of heroes (such as the ones in comic books, myths, movies, or even just everyday life heroes) but all of them
have perseverance when they're going through a conflict. Heroes are role models and they're people that we look up too. They all have unique and
special qualities that make one another different from each other. For example policemen battle crime everyday and when they're overcoming a conflict
they have determination, courage and other traits that people admire them for and that make them as a hero. Typically a hero is admired for their
achievement/actions and qualities. There once was a speech made, from a man who was admired and looked up too by many people. His name was
Martin Luther...show more content...
Many of us thought he was a very inspiring and wonderful man because he had achieved his goal by showing everyone that all of us are equal. If it
weren't for him, there probably wouldn't be different races here in the world getting along together today. Another idea of a hero was when
Gandhi had stood up for his country; India. "Gandhi led nationwide campaigns to ease poverty, expand women's rights, and build religious and
ethnic amity" plus he had "spent a number of years in jail in both South Africa and India". In other words Gandhi never gave up showing everyone
how India should be independent. Gandhi had stood out his way by leading marches to declare independence. Gandhi had been admired for his
bravery (when he was thrown in jail a few times), his confidence (he never showed any sign of weakness) and perseverance (he had never gave up).
Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes
everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they're going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have
courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else's. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy's leg. She
was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy's leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.

Strong Thesis Statement
Writing a Strong Thesis Statement Every thesis statement is an argument to be proved and supported by the body of the essay. Remember, if your
essay doesn't support your thesis statement, you have two choices: change your essay or change your thesis statement. Weak THESIS: I learned that if
I procrastinate, my essays will not come out as good. Strong THESIS: Say why:
For many student writers, procrastination is based on fear; this fear keeps students from improving their writing because they do not take the time to
fully develop their ideas. Say why we should care:
Students should understand that worrying about grammar and spelling too early in the writing process will actually lead to a less analytical essay. Say

В· Have I said something arguable? What's the point if everyone will agree with you or if everyone already knows this?
В· Can I support my thesis? Can I think of specific examples and evidence? Does every point I bring up support my thesis or do I need to revise my

В· Is it specific enough to write about in the required number of pages? Or would someone have to write a book (or a set of encyclopedias) to fully
support my thesis?
В· Is my thesis relevant to the assignment? Does it do what my teacher asks (i.e. argue, summarize, compare/contrast)?
В· Does it show my ability to think critically about the subject? Does it answer one or more of the 5 Ws?
В· Can I combine any of the above strategies to make my thesis even stronger and still answer "yes" to the above

How To Write A Good Research Paper
A Research Paper is a type of academic writing that needs more theoretical, significant and methodical level of question. Although a research paper is
a kind of term paper, some term papers don't require academic research. Not all research papers can be considered as term papers. An objective of

The impact of the environment on health is a high priority for WHO. One example is access to safe drinking water. WHO puts the highest priority on
the development of community water supplies and sanitation facilities with the AFRICA 2000 initiative. WHO is deeply concerned with prevention

Shakespeare believes that women are more prone to crying and that they are the weaker gender. When Rosalind is talking to Aliena, she says "I could
find in my heart to disgrace my man's apparel and to cry like a woman, but I must comfort the weaker vessel, as doublet and hose ought to show itself
courageous to petticoat". (2.4.4–8) In the past, it was believed that because of the fact that women give birth, they are the fairer sex. Most people
believed that women could not protect themselves, and that they needed courageous men to protect them. Shakespeare also portrays women in a
stereotypical manner, in the sense that it was believed that women normally rave over males, making them seem foolish. In Scene 3 Act 2, Rosalind is
giddy over Orlando, perpetuating the stereotype that woman go crazy over guys. (3.2.198–208) Tie to the topic sentence. Another stereotype that

How Does an Author's Life Influence Their Writing?
Authors have inspired and created some of the most remarkable ideas that can change just one life or many; however, these authors must have had
inspiration themselves. An author's life influences who they are and what they do, writing. Edgar Allan Poe was a unique author who wrote
numerous dark, mysterious works, such as "The Tell Tale Heart," that were inspired by his life full of sorrow and despair. Comparable to Poe, S.E.
Hinton's writing was affected by her life of being different from the world and even her friends, which led to her writing about a unique character who
stands out in The Outsiders. Lastly, Elie Wiesel is alike to the previous authors. His life, burdened by ceaseless pain that he bore through, reflects in his
writing in Night. Anybody's life can change from just one significant moment that they have lived, no matter who they are or what they do. Edgar Allan
Poe, S.E. Hinton, and Elie Wiesel had been just average people who have challenged events in their lives which who used those events to write.
Edgar Allan Poe's writing had certainly been impacted by his life. Poe was born to his mother, Eliza Poe, in 1809. However, his alcoholic father,
David Poe Jr., had left him. His mother later died of Tuberculosis when he was still young. Although he had joined the Allan Family, this absence of
his parents brought him to be lonely. His foster father, John Allan, raised Poe as if he was his own, but Poe and his

Who Are You As A Writer? Essay
When presented with the question, "who are you as a writer?", I was speechless at first. But after thinking about it, I realized who I am as a writer
has been influenced by so many different sponsors throughout my life and there was not a short, concrete answer. Brandt mentions that "literacy
is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a person to become literate and shape the way the person
actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43) My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by my
mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have
convinced myself that I am a terrible writer, and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden and a
huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society.
When writing, I write to the guidelines in order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my own ideas
because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on
things, but that was not the "right" way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they wanted to hear, and
even then I was not to the level they

The chemical poisoning in water have a great impact on humans because it can cause brain damage and physical deformities in unborn fetuses. Pollution disrupts the natural food chain as well. Pollutants such as lead and cadmium are eaten by tiny animals. Later, these animals are consumed by fish and shellfish, and the food chain continues to be disrupted at all higher levels. Eventually, humans are affected by this process as well. People can get diseases such as hepatitis by eating seafood that has been poisoned. Besides, Water pollutants introduce abnormal conditions (harmful chemicals, changes in water temperatures) into water bodies, disrupting existing ecosystems and can potentially contribute to reducing biodiversity in that affected area – one of the effects of water pollution. For example, the discharge of heated–up water from thermal and nuclear power plants into a river can cause problems for aquatic organisms, which are fairly used to specific temperatures. The increase in water temperatures could increase their metabolic rates and hence their need for food. This could eventually lead to the depletion of food sources in that water region and in turn cause a reduction in species population in that water region. Besides thermal pollution, water could also be polluted via the entry of acidic substances into the water bodies through rivers, seas and oceans. • 3. Thesis Statement I have been an international student at California State University Easy Bay (CSUEB) for almost four years, and during the stay I have learned far more than I expected. I came to CSUEB already deciding to be a financial analyst in the future. However, I realized that I have to meet the University Writing Skills Requirement (UWSR) before graduation. With only four years of studying in English, I have many problems in Englishwriting. After failing the Writing Skills Test, I took an English writing class, which has taught me how to write logically and proficiently. Thus, I should pass this class and satisfy the UWSR because my collection of essays in the portfolio shows that I made a great improvement in thesis statements composition, development of ideas, and organization. To begin with, I have improved tremendously on writing a thesis statement. The thesis statement can be the most significant sentence in an essay. In my past, I always composed an unclear and unsupported thesis failing to present my augment to the readers. With the help of a tutor, I learned that an effective thesis should have a clear position supported by reasons. I revised the thesis of out of class essay 2 many times to ensure it can present my position clearly and specifically on the issue of...show more content... When developing my idea of the positive sides of a college degree, I provided data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, personal work experience, and a credible article for the New Yorker Magazine to explain and support my claim. You have a lot of good ideas, but you need to expand them more in order to show the readers what you want them to know. It a very informative essay, you did give a lot information about student worries about having their major undecided before they came to college and some ways that can help those students out. But I still has some suggestion wants to share with you. For the introduction paragraph one, you talked about undeclared students become worried and anxious, then you then you use Schmidt's article to prove your idea, but after that you again said about that is the example of students become worried and anxious. • 6. Effective Thesis Statement The elements of a thesis are generally stated in a single sentence. A topic is not covered in a thesis, but opinions are expressed. A thesis indicates that there is support to follow, and often organizes supporting material. Effective thesis statements are precisely worded to draw in the audience. The location of a thesis is very important because if it appears at the opening of the essay, it starts the essay off with a strong statement providing clear direction and an outline of the supporting evidence. If a thesis statement appears in the middle it allows the writer to introduce the subject and guide the reader into accepting a thesis that is explained, as well as defended. The thesis being presented at the end allows the writer to close the thesis with a strong statement. The types of evidence that can be used in a thesis vary from personal observations to statistics. • 8. How to Write Academic Papers Academic Writing Academic Writing Most of us have written several essays in our entire academic career, from primary level up to graduation and university. Starting from small and very simple essays; we come a long way in writing essays in our specialized and chosen field of study, whether it would be philosophy, sports, sciences or any other subject. Some students take essay writing as a fun, a mental activity that enhances their knowledge and boost up their energy levels, while some take it as a burden and get frustrated of it. The reason is very simple; the former ones either have flair of writing naturally or they simply enjoy and like the entire procedure, while the later do not have enough potential for gathering ideas and to compile them in an attractive way is a very hard job for them. For a student of every grade and age, it is important to have necessary writing skills so that he/she may become able to get good grades for his/her assignments and term papers. The essays can be of any kind; these can simply be descriptive, argumentative (for or against essays), opinion essays and the requirement of the essay must be fulfilled in order to achieve good marks and repute. For this purpose, it is necessary to have some Basic English essay writing skills so that essay writing becomes no more an impossible task rather a fun and excited thing to do. 1.First of all, it is important that either you yourself select a topic upon which you have to write the essay, or your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Summary Of Terry Tempest Williams 'Why I Write' "Why I Write" Essay In Terry Tempest Williams' essay, "Why I Write," she uses metaphors to represent the risk of being criticized while writing, but also having the courage to publish anyway. She tells the audience about how writing can be very risky when she states, "I write knowing I can be killed by my own words, stabbed by syntax, crucified by both understanding and misunderstanding" (Williams 7). Williams uses metaphors to represent that people will criticize whether they know the true meaning of what you're writing or not. In the example related to being killed by own words, you can tell that she is trying to show that any type of criticism will hurt you deeply no matter how much they know you or not. You can also see from the citation that she is trying to show off an example of courage because it says that you're crucified by both understanding and misunderstanding and that means that they might just be saying what they are, just to say it, but you have to learn to move past it because nevertheless, people will be cruel and you have to persevere through it. Williams displays in this example that writing is a risky experience and everything can hurt you from the quote, "and then I realize, it doesn't matter, words are always a gamble, words are splinters from the cut glass" (Williams 7). In this instance, Williams uses metaphors to show that writing is a big risk; she also compares it to the words hurting. Her use of metaphors really captivates this idea of risk by comparing it to a gamble and that the words can hurt by the comparison to splinters from glass which can lead into my next point. You also can see from this citation when it talks about it not mattering and that is showing that no matter what anybody says, you should have confidence in yourself and just publish anyway because there are going to people who like it and people who criticize it, but you just have to have confidence in yourself and put it out there and just write to write. "Why I Write," by Terry Tempest Williams, is anessay that elaborates on the idea that people will criticize and realm of work in the world, but you must learn that despite what people may think, it's your own personal confidence that is going to help you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. What is a Hero? Essay What is a Hero? There are many types of heroes (such as the ones in comic books, myths, movies, or even just everyday life heroes) but all of them have perseverance when they're going through a conflict. Heroes are role models and they're people that we look up too. They all have unique and special qualities that make one another different from each other. For example policemen battle crime everyday and when they're overcoming a conflict they have determination, courage and other traits that people admire them for and that make them as a hero. Typically a hero is admired for their achievement/actions and qualities. There once was a speech made, from a man who was admired and looked up too by many people. His name was Martin Luther...show more content... Many of us thought he was a very inspiring and wonderful man because he had achieved his goal by showing everyone that all of us are equal. If it weren't for him, there probably wouldn't be different races here in the world getting along together today. Another idea of a hero was when Gandhi had stood up for his country; India. "Gandhi led nationwide campaigns to ease poverty, expand women's rights, and build religious and ethnic amity" plus he had "spent a number of years in jail in both South Africa and India". In other words Gandhi never gave up showing everyone how India should be independent. Gandhi had stood out his way by leading marches to declare independence. Gandhi had been admired for his bravery (when he was thrown in jail a few times), his confidence (he never showed any sign of weakness) and perseverance (he had never gave up). Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they're going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else's. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy's leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy's leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Remember, if your essay doesn't support your thesis statement, you have two choices: change your essay or change your thesis statement. Weak THESIS: I learned that if I procrastinate, my essays will not come out as good. Strong THESIS: Say why: For many student writers, procrastination is based on fear; this fear keeps students from improving their writing because they do not take the time to fully develop their ideas. When Rosalind is talking to Aliena, she says "I could find in my heart to disgrace my man's apparel and to cry like a woman, but I must comfort the weaker vessel, as doublet and hose ought to show itself courageous to petticoat". (2.4.4–8) In the past, it was believed that because of the fact that women give birth, they are the fairer sex. Most people believed that women could not protect themselves, and that they needed courageous men to protect them. Authors have inspired and created some of the most remarkable ideas that can change just one life or many; however, these authors must have had inspiration themselves. An author's life influences who they are and what they do, writing. Edgar Allan Poe was a unique author who wrote numerous dark, mysterious works, such as "The Tell Tale Heart," that were inspired by his life full of sorrow and despair. Comparable to Poe, S.E. Hinton's writing was affected by her life of being different from the world and even her friends, which led to her writing about a unique character who stands out in The Outsiders. Lastly, Elie Wiesel is alike to the previous authors. His life, burdened by ceaseless pain that he bore through, reflects in his writing in Night. Anybody's life can change from just one significant moment that they have lived, no matter who they are or what they do. Edgar Allan Poe, S.E. Brandt mentions that "literacy is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a person to become literate and shape the way the person actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43) My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by my mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have convinced myself that I am a terrible writer, and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden and a huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society. When writing, I write to the guidelines in order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my own ideas because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on things, but that was not the "right" way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they wanted to hear, and even then I was not to the level they Get more content on HelpWriting.net
