1. Multitasking
Multitasking does not have any advantages. It causes stress, creates poor quality work, and it takes up more time. Everyone multitasks even though
they do not know it. Multitasking is actually switching between tasks really fast, not doing two things at once. Chewing gum and walking can be
considered multitasking. Multitasking can cause a lot of stress. When switching between tasks constantly it makes it hard to stay concentrated and
fully understand an assignment. This alone can cause a lot of stress. Multitasking "can increase the time you work by 50%"(Bane). With increased
time by 50% it really is not working faster. Working longer hours can cause stress that is why when working it is best to put all effort into a task one
at a time and

Multitasking ā "the ability to do several different things at once"
Nowadays, people prefer to divide people in two groups; people who masters to multitask, and those who can't. Almost everyone place themselves in
the former group, thereafter they put the rest of the people in the latter. But of course most people are lying.
I personally take advantage of multitasking daily to a certain extent, yes, practically all the time ā in a certain level. And my perception of multitasking
is the same as http://www.google.no/ 's perception on what multitasking is; it's simply to have the ability to do several different things at once.
But something that should be mentioned here is that no one can really multitask. It's when we think we're...show more content...
It's been proven time after time over the last years: multitasking is something only computers can do. What we humans do, when we think that we're
"multitasking", is to jump from doing one thing to another, as mentioned earlier.
But let us not forget that there's one more group; those who need to multitask. I'd most probably put myself in that group ā the group of people who
can't concentrate and focus on one specific thing unless she or he is doing at least one more thing at the exact same time. Now, you may call it
ADHD, while I would rather call it being efficient.
Of course there's possible to listen to music while you're doing your homework ā to exclude the other actions around you, and to increase your
concentration, like I personally do. But also here, the perceptions are different. Some people find hearing music while doing homework as disturbing.
I think that the perception and the results of multitasking are different from person to person, depending on whom the person concerned is and what
tasks there is to be done.
A day should absolutely have more hours so all tasks on the toādoālist could've been done! But that isn't something we can change... so I think that the
only thing we can do is to make the best out of it and remember to relax now and then.

3. Essay on Multitasking is A Bad Habit
In this modern era, it has become commonplace to try and accomplish as many tasks as possible as quickly as possible in order to be more efficient.
With the help of technology, many believe that multitasking is becoming a required and helpful skill. Multitasking is actually a detrimental habit.
Multitasking divides a person's concentration in order to attempt to complete multiple actions. Even though in the end the tasks are all finished, the
quality of the finished task and the time required to finish all the tasks makes multitasking very inefficient. In addition, this division of concentration is
causing many people to not pay attention. For most, multitasking is a disadvantageous skill that should not be encouraged as a valid...show more

After all, if a person was to learn about or concentrate on a different subject every few minutes, it would be nearly impossible to retain and remember
the information. As one study discovered, "multitasking adversely affects how you learn. Even if you learn while multitasking, that learning is less
flexible and more specialized, so you cannot retrieve the information as easily (Rosen 412)." Most people who multitask become so distracted by the
amount of information they are trying to obtain at one time that it is actually causing the opposite effect. Multitasking makes it harder to distinguish
the difference or importance between individual tasks. This means that many people either dismiss all the information gain as redundant or clump all
knowledge, unnecessary and essential, together.
The clumping together of knowledge, growing low attention span, and separation of focus has not only made it harder to avoid distraction, but it also
has resulted in less efficient work and performance. It was discovered in a study that when the participants were told to switch between solving math
problems and classifying geometric objects, it took longer for them to solve each problem. As the tasks got progressively more complex and difficult, it
took a significantly longer time for the participants to complete the assignment, especially those who were unfamiliar with the subject (Rubinstein).

In recent years, researchers have been focusing on the issues of students multitasking while studying. Whereas, multitasking is not a recent

Multitasking is what has made today today. As time has moved on, things become faster and faster, the way we travel, production has increased, and
how fast we have to work. There is this misconception that multitasking causes people to lose focus easily, that people who can focus on a mono task

In a three hour window, students were distracted thirty five times in that three hour window. These distractions took up nearly 1/6th of the studytime
(Ackerman, Calderwood, & Conklin, 2014). If multitasking is making it harder to study, why would students do it? A study found four main reasons
why students multitask with media. Students find that multitasking is more task efficient, it can be entertaining, it enables people to connect with
peers, and some can be addicted to multitasking in general( Knononva, Chiang, 2015). While multitasking is becoming more and more abundant, the
question whether it is helping or hindering studying is still in question. How well can humans retain information while focusing on multiple sources at
the same time. Is it truly plausible that we can read and retain information while being distracted by other sources of information. Trying to determine
the effectiveness of multitasking and finding a valid conclusion to it's effectiveness, could possibly help us better understand our capabilities as
humans. These finding could help us construct expectations and reveal limitations of our capabilities as humans. Doing this could help us create better
