kilometres. It is a rapidly growing economy, with living standards being raised every year. However, human rights violations are still a part of daily

Since the early 2000's, Venezuela has struggled with their government and citizens have revolted as a result. Human rights violations have become a
big issue in Venezuela and there has been a lack of responsibility taken by those who commit these violations. This problem has progressively gotten
worse over the years and as the situation in Venezuela worsens. Venezuela is still a developing country and its citizens have been losing more and
more rights instead of gaining them. However, it has been difficult for other actors to intervene because of the complexity involved with these issues.
Human rights violations are serious and need to be controlled before the country gets to the point where it can no longer be fixed. The situation in
Venezuela has gotten to where it is now mostly due to factors within the country like the oppressive government but also other indirect factors like its

Often at times if a police officer is suspicious a citizen is gay, he will be arrested, and taken to jail and receive jail time for his criminal act
(Ackerman). These arrests will sometimes take place even without tests. Since January 2001, over 140 men have been arrested on vice charges ranging
from "debauchery" to "inducing passersby to commit indecent acts" (Murphy). These are the same charges were used to persecute prostitutes, when

The film, Beyond the Gates, shows audiences the horror that took place during the Rwandan genocide. Shot in the same area as the actual genocide

Human trafficking is one of today's egregious human rights violations. Traffickers focus on the most vulnerable members of society, preying mostly
on women, and children, yet men are also trafficked in high numbers. Trafficking of a person refers to the, "illegal trade of a human being for sexual

This report is submitted to the Human Rights Council to report on the human rights violations and abuses against the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
This report focuses on the protracted enforcement of discriminatory policies that seek to marginalise and control Rohingya population namely of the
Rakhine state.
This report argues that Myanmar's 1982 Citizenship Law and state and federal legislative acts function as the catalyst to excluded and marginalise the

Human trafficking is a topic that is not discussed very often in society. Many people fail to realize that human trafficking still exists today. Human
trafficking violates basic human rights. It takes away the freedom and security of men, women, and children world wide. The diversity and widespread

This statement reflects the challenge that's been facing the international community for several decades. Indeed, the international community
(represented by the United Nations) has legitimized the coercive action against a state and the intervention in another state's affairs when the state is
violating human rights [therefore on behalf of other people/to help people suffering severe harm/to help people whose fundamental rights have been
neglected] and when it's framed by a supranational authority, typically the UN Security Council.
But this "humanitarian intervention" defies the UN Charter's principle of self–determination that says that people have the right to freely choose their

In many parts of the world, people are discriminated against, whether it be for their race, gender or religion. The people don't get a voice in society.
There are many cases of discrimination in the Middle East such as men killing their own family because they are embarrassed by them. In other
instances, girls are denied education as learned in "Afghanistan: Girls Struggle for an Education". People may think that the things that happened
during the Holocaust would never happen in today's time, but unfortunately, the spirit of the Holocaust still lives on. Even though the Holocaust
happened many years ago, human rights are still being violated in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Syria.
The women of Afghanistan are experiencing human rights violations. The Afghan government has been making efforts to give girls an education
since 2001, but efforts failed and now 85 percent of Afghan girls don't attend school. Liesl Gerntholtz, a women's rights director at Human Rights
Watch says, "The Afghan government and donors made bold promises in 2001 to get all girls into education, but insecurity, poverty, and displacement
are driving many girls out of school" (Afghanistan 1). The lack of education violates Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This

where they return to. Children who return to a community where they feel loved and accepted tend to feel safer, while those who return to more

whole world?
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) states that everyone has the right to education and education shall be free – at least in the
elementary and fundamental stages. However, in poverty stricken nations millions of children remain unschooled. The most persistent barriers to
education are political and economic instability, conflict and extreme household poverty. These factors alone account to more than half of the worlds
out–of–school children. This refers back to multiple articles, for example, Article 2, where 'Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedom set forth
in this declaration, without distinction of any kind such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin,
property, birth or any other status.' However, children with disabilities, who speak different languages, are poverty stricken, in child labour, live in
conflict–affected situations, or are female e.g. are not catered for. Despite the protections listed in the
