Boyd is an Independent Senior SAP EAM Principal Consultant based in Augusta, Georgia. He specializes in
Asset Productivity and Process Improvement utilizing ISO-55000 and PAS 55 as a models for success. He has
extensive experience in Project/Task Management, Business Analysis, Master Data Management (MDM),
Master Data Governance (MDG), Organizational Change Management, Implementation, Work Process Flow
Development, Business Process Re-engineering /Optimization, and both Linear and Non-Linear Asset
Management.
Boyd has over thirty-five years of industry experience in successfully leading clients in program/process
improvement and programmatic change efforts in both the public and private sectors utilizing Organizational
Change Management training techniques to gain consensus. A diversified background that has been centered
on the assessment, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of business processes to
deliver sustainable solutions in support of programmatic change in compliance with NRC, DOE/DOD, FERC,
OSHA, NFPA, ESH, cGMP, ISO and EPA regulatory requirements. Work experience has been in the utility
(electric, gas, water, sewer and telecommunications), DOD/DOE, metals, mining pharmaceutical, chemical and
plastics industries.
Recent Achievements include;
Leading SAP EAM/PM Workshops where PAS 55 /ISO 55000 has been introduced as the standard to be
used for implementing a Global EAM effort.
Participated as an IAM Committee Member, Reviewer and Contributor on the 2008 Revision of the PAS 55
User Guide which has since been published as ISO-55000 Subject Specific Guide (SSG)
Asset Information, Strategy, Standards and Data Management
Currently participating as an IAM Committee Member, Reviewer and Contributor working on the
development of an ISO-55000 CPRA SSG to address Resilience and Contingency Planning.
Leading EDLM Workshops where MDM and MDG Opportunity assessment surveys for Materials, Vendors
and Customers were conducted to determine policies, strategies and plans readiness, establish a detailed
SOW and a forced ranking detailed roadmap for implementation in coordination with an SAP EAM PM/MM
global implementation.
Working on a review of all Oil and Gas Pipeline Regulatory Requirements and revision of all associated
surveillance procedures ensuring all requirements were met utilizing SMART methodology.
Converted all existing paper surveillance inspections for a Oil and Gas Pipeline into mobile data collection
worksheets that met all regulatory requirements.
Identified a business process gap that prevented retired assets from being removed from the fixed asset
ledger. Spearheaded a business process change resulting in a client property tax savings of over
$1,000,000 at this one plant alone. This gap was at the enterprise level and affected all US plants.
2. Championed the use of a Valve Remanufacturer valve-recycling program that provided higher reliability at
50% of the cost resulting in a $500,000 cost savings due to non-spend.
Championed the use of an Instrumentation Remanufacturer that took the entire inventory of over 3000
improperly stored and configured Rosemount transmitters, gave client a 24hr turn around with a totally
remanufactured to OEM specifications, configured to the exact specification required, calibrated and with a
2 year warranty for only $200 each. This resulted in a $250,000 dollar non-spend saving.
Participated as an I&C Nuclear Startup Test or Power Ascension Engineer at four Commercial and one
DOE Nuclear Reactor Start-ups.
Significant Relevant experience in the following;
Typical work includes proposal development, estimating, scope, pricing, definition, measurement, analysis, compliance,
implementation, validation and training of procedures and programs in compliance with DOD/DOE, NRC, INPO, TPM,
ES&H, ISMS and OSHA Regulatory requirements and guidelines including but not limited to; development of Knowledge
Management, Configuration Management, Management of Change, Checkout & Initialization, Pre-Operational Tests, and
Performance Verification, Administrative, I&C Maintenance, and Calibration procedures and programs, 10CFR50.59
Evaluations, ORR reports, set point calculations, assessments, scope of works, proposal preparation, performance
evaluations, preparing and reviewing Design Change Packages (DCPs) for various equipment including design drawings,
calculations, vendor documents, revising plant documentation, set-point calculations, instrumentation specification, logic
design, P&ID design, digital upgrades of existing plant equipment, DCS I/O layout, tubing and instrument installation
design requirements, radiation detection, security systems, control room layout/human factors, safety system design, etc.
and related project control reports.
