1. Cover Letter
My name is Hokyung Yoon(preferably, Brian Yoon), born on Nov. 18, 1980 in South Korea.
After obtaining B.A. degree in Food science in Dongguk University in 2006, I started career from
Namyang Dairy food company, serving as QA specialist for yogurt & milk manufacturing line.
Since the yogurt & milk were procured to a variety of local customers : the U.S. military
department, Costco, E-mart, etc., I learned and developed PMO standard(Pasteurized Milk
Ordinance regulated by the U.S. FDA) to site as well as HACCP(Hazard Analysis & Critical Control
Point), ISO / FSSC 22000 to pass annual audit and ensure effective, robust food safety system is in
place.
As for HACCP implementation at site, I conducted risk assessment at each and every production
step by organic compound and microbiological testing in light of biological and physical hazard.
In case of chemical hazard, I verified effectiveness of sanitizer and CIP(Cleaning In Place)
chemicals.
To broaden my insight and career, I moved to Diageo Korea, serving as QA specialist for liquor
product manufacturing line for Korea and Japan market, and since July 2014 until now, I have
served QA manager.
Meanwhile, I have contributed myself to successful product launch by providing technical
expertise to liquid development team by regulatory review on permissibility of each ingredient to
Korea and Japan market as well as validation of new ingredient and package.
Also, I have handled customer complaints in timely manner and implemented effective RCPS (Root
Cause Analysis & Problem Solving) to meet high quality demands of Korea and Japan customers.
As for my personal traits, my colleagues and supervisors in the current work place tell that I am
reliable, sincere and integrated; I have an ability to bounce back from difficulties; I have a positive
way of thinking. I believe that every cloud has its silver lining, so despite any challenges in
delivering food safety, positive way of thinking is the only way for me to overcome obstacles and
move ahead.
