Constitution power point
1.
2. The Constitution was written during the
Philadelphia Convention. Now known as
the Constitutional Convention, which
convened from May 25 to September 17,
1787. It was also signed on September
17, 1787.
3. James Madison, John Locke, and
Montesquieu all created most of the
Constitution.
4. The Constitution was written (over the
summer of 1787, in Philadelphia)
because many of the country's leaders
at the time had become dissatisfied with
the structure of government created by
the Articles of Confederation, which had
been in effect since 1781.
5. The Constitution was written at
the Philadelphia which occurred from
May 25 to September 17, 1787.
6. Magna Carta- gave the people personal freedoms, that no
free man could just be thrown in jail without a fair trial, and
placed English king under the same laws.

no taxation by Royal Prerogative, freedom to petition the
monarch without fear of retribution, no standing army may
be maintained during a time of peace without the consent of
parliament, no royal interference in the freedom of the
people to have arms for their own defense as suitable to their
class and as allowed by law, no royal interference in the
election of members of Parliament, the freedom of
speech and debates or proceedings in Parliament ought not
to be impeached or questioned in any court or place out of
Parliament, "grants and promises of fines or forfeitures" before
conviction are void, and no excessive bail or "cruel and

6. Various powers of the three branches of

7. Settled land disputes among fighting

8. check and balances (impeachments,

the separation of power between
judicial, executive, and legislative.
Ratification of the amendments and the
long process that it takes
9. I would make more ways of ratifying
amendments possible
Other than that I am really at a loss on
how to improve the Constitution. I think it
is great just the way it is.
10. I think it is just as relevant because
amendments are still being created and
the Constitution is the basis for American
society today. It is the foundation of
America and without it, America would
crumble. The Constitution is still used in
deciding many trials(federal, state, etc.)
that occur today. The constitution is just as
relevant as back then except for the fact
that our society today takes it for granted,
while back then it was not looked upon in
this way.
