1. Hello my name is Brett Ogden and today I am going too talk
to about these three major operating systems which are
OS-X, Windows 7, Linux.So let's begin with a little history
about myself and the computer operating systems I use. So
I grew up in a house was running Windows XP and Windows
Vista. (2003-2011)
So as I grew up I was using Windows for my online life and I
did not know much about the other two major operating
systems. So in June 2011 I started volunteering at Lake
Stevens family church as a media operator and in July 2011
I became head of media at LSFC and LSFC purchase a new
MacBook Pro for media. So I was introduced to the world of
Mac and it was a eye-opening experience for me.
So in the summary you will see my point of view of the
three major operating systems and my personal favorite
and the one I hate the most! So to base my decision I'm
going to go off of three things usability, productivity and
user experience and I will be grading each category on a
scale 1 to 10 with 30 overall points let's begin!!!
So let's start out with the world of Windows 7. So I have not
used Windows 7 as much as I would like to do a fair
assessment of it. So I understand with Windows 7 Microsoft
has improved the usability over Windows Vista but that's
not saying a lot. As far as productivity goes Microsoft office
is labor intensive to do the simplest task. As far as user
experience they have improved a lot. So Windows 7
usability grade is 7.8, productivity grade is 6.5, user
experience is 7.8 So there overall score is 22.1.
So let's dive into Linux operating system. I have not used a
Linux operating system very much. So I decided to go on
Google and learn more about the linux free operating
system so there are usability is actually quite well. As for
2. productivity is high also because they do not use much
space on a hard drive. And user experience is much similar
to a Mac experience so is quite well. As for the grading as
for usability there grade is 8.4, productivity 7.8 and user
experience 8.2. So their overall grade is 24.4
In our dive into the world of Macintosh which is a great
operating system. So let's dive right as for usability is one
of the best user friendly ecosystem that I've ever seen. Talk
about productivity is a user-friendly high horsepower
computer that can get a lot done with minimal effort!!!! A
user experience is the best I ever use!! So let's get to the
grade as for usability the great is 9.3, productivity grade is
9.1 and the user experience grade is 9.2 the Macintosh
overall grade is 27.6!!!
Conclusion
So my conclusion is Macintosh OS X had a overall score of
27.6, linux had a overall store of 24.4 and Windows 7
overall score of 22.1! So my preferred operating system is
Macintosh OS X and my least favorite is Windows 7
Disclaimer
this is my personal opinion, some people will agree with me
in some people will not so I advise you to do your own
research on your preferred operating system.
Bonus history
when I was in second grade my teacher had a old Imac with
a blue shell she told me Macintosh is better then a new Dell
that are classroom just got I did not believe her at the time
but now I realize she was right and I was wrong so I owe
her a apology. My first Macintosh was a mid-2011 iMac 27
