Display Panel Production
• Panel Dimensions to be compatible with
Nomadic Instand specifications (unless an
existing frame of different specs exists):
4 front panels (2280mm high x 747mm wide)
+ 2 endcaps (2280mm high x 381mm wide)
• Use a laminate that has a matte or
“pebbly”finish.
• Avoid glossy laminates.
• Panels should be backed with an opaque
vinyl to prevent the accidental backlighting
of the panel.
Artwork Guidelines and Recommendations
• No high contrast patterns or stripes
• Ensure graphics do not interfere with speaker
(i.e.graphics“growing”out of the speakers
head or partially hidden behind shoulders).
• Colours should be neutral, where possible,
so as not to detract from the speaker.
• Warmer tones are better.
• Bright yellows and greens should be avoided.
• Avoid faces in the artwork; the viewers will
tend to focus on them
• No primarily white,bright saturated colours,or
pure black backdrops (Optimum visual colour
density range of 45%–85% grey equivalent)
• When creating repeating patterns of words/
slogans, keep the word length short as to not
have long words truncated in a way that could
confuse or detract from the message.
• Do not use pure white for text; use a light
grey (10%) instead. The grey will read as
white on camera.
Scenario as Illustrated:
• 5 camera operators spread out on 3m (10')
with 9m (30') to the front of the podium.
• Speaker’s back is approx.2.4m (8') from the backwall
• Speaker’s height is 185cm (6'1")
• 4:3 camera cropping (worst-case scenario)

out on 3m (10') with 9m (30')
to the front of the podium.
• Speaker’s back is approx.
2.4m (8') from the backwall
• Speaker’s height is 185cm (6'1")
• 4:3 camera cropping
(worst-case scenario)
Room/Lighting Considerations
• Do not mix lighting (for example:Natural
with Tungsten).
• A typical room with 8' ceilings does not provide
a lot of room for lights.
Lighting should be soft.
• Display should be lit separately from the speaker.
• Speaker should have some backlighting to help
make them seem three-dimensional on camera
instead of "sitting" on the background.
• Reflection or hotspots are problematic
with backdrops.
Display and Speaker Placement
• Do not set-up the display against a window or
other area with strong light behind the display.
• Display should be set in the longest direction of the
room to allow camera operators the distance and
space required.
• Speaker’s back should be 1800mm to 3000mm
(6' to 10') from the backdrop.
• Speaker should stand on a riser to bring height
close to 185cm (6’1”).
Camera Operator
• Cameras are usually in the back (possibly on a
platform if there are lots of people in front and/or
the room is large).
• Camera operator will shoot eye level wherever
possible.
• Framing is industry-standard“head-and-shoulder
shot”which starts approx.mid-chest.This provides
the required space for the station logo and speaker
name/details.
• Best position for camera is front and centre with
the speaker.This position
is only possible for one camera’s line of sight.
Others will need to be off to the sides; this will
affect the perceived location of the speaker
relative to the background.
Podium Recommendation
• Cables (for Microphones) should be hidden under
draped podium/table.1
