1. An analysis of spanish electoral propaganda (in any official physical or media forms) of
political parties in order to exemplify the use of this passions, or similar ones, nowadays
to mobilize the citizen

Usually, political parties use passions to attract votants. In this presentation we`ll
show you some examples in Spanish political parties.
The two main passions that they use are Hope and Fear. Depending on the
objective of the politician, they will use one or another passion in their political
propaganda.
4. PSOE
TEXT :
● Direct demand
● “Fuerzas” - resistance to the “bad”, use to cause a need (hope)
and create a call to defend it or reach it
● 2ªp. Sing. without the use of the “politer form” (courtesy)
(usted) - closeness and singularity, to try to make the people
feel alluded to this “call”
IMAGE :
● Simple background to stand out the logo of the party
● Hopeful look
● Trick with lights to insinuate a lighter horizon
● Exclusive presence of the candidate of the party - To give a
“face and a name” to it
● Casual clothes (without a tie) to transmit an image of equality
5. PSC
IMAGE
● Stare. Transmits security and naturalness.
● Half smile Inspire confidence and temperance.
● Formal clothes make him formal and serious.
● Background white to highlight the politician.
TEXT
● It appears the word positive.
● VOTE appears in capital letter, and in red.
● The last point convey end.
● The last sentence transmit his political ideology.
6. PP
IMAGE
● With his smile and his look towards the front it shows
hope.
● His clothes are simple but at the same time are classic
and formal.
● The people from the bottom shows support. People is
following him.
● There are some Spanish flags in the background, so at
the bottom of the photo we can see a line with the
colors of the flag of Catalonia.
7. CIUDADANOS
IMAGE
● Stare that inspire confidence.
● Same height = equality.
● Formal attire inspires closeness.
● White background highlights orange letters.
● The heart indicates union CAT-SP-EU.
● The orange colour inspire hope and is the colour of the
political party.
TEXT
● It invites people to the meeting.
● The text has HOPE, things will change into a better way.
● A new Catalonia.
8. ESPAÑA 2000
TEXT :
● White background to stand out the
message.
● Also use of capital letters and they play
with the colors of the logo.
● Call to all the citizens (3ºp. pl.).
● Provide the we to search for more
informaticon or contact with the party
itself.
● Aggressive politic (threat).
● Presents a threat/ a real fear
(unemployment) and an attractive
solution (blame it all to the people that
don't belong to this country aka.
immigrants).
● Sells a simple solution (“get rid of
them”).
IMAGE:
● Specificates a well known place (the presence
of the sign helps identificining it).
● It isn't a “official” image, a planned image (they
use citizens to exemplify the problem).
● They also use masses of people to show the
big porcentages affected by this.
9. JUVENTUDES LIBERTARIAS
TEXT
● Stands up the word NO indicated negation.
● It makes a contrast of colors with the word childhood to
indicate importance that children has to the country.
● The expression “no enveneneis a la infancia” means
that the other political parties will make things against
childhood but they wouldn't.
IMAGE
● There is a child with an scared face to make people
think about children future.
● There are three suits. Red (communism) Blue(fascism)
and Black (anarchism).
● There's a hand taking the blue one and the child is
crying. It means the fascism isn't good for children.
10. PSOE VS PP TEXT
● Satiric critic.
● 2nd pl. P. - unity and proximity.
● “Destroys” - definitive, no returning.
● Fear.
IMAGE
● Black and white - negative dramatism.
● Worried face - pessimism.
● Use of statistics to formalize it .
● It presents an affirmation like a reality.
OBJECTIVE
Destroy the support of the party and get
more votants.
11. PODEMOS VS PP
TEXT
● FEAR.
● It uses the second person of plural to indicate that it affects
to everybody.
● The objective is the distrust to PP.
● It mentions Problem with the adverb “mayor” , it means that
for this party the transparency is the most important thing.
● It mentions the jale, it puts dramatism.
