2. African Changemakers Network
2016
It isn’t about us, but you changing the story of Africa and
Africans.
African Changemakers Network is a collaborative group of
young inspiring Africans, who has vigorously embarked on
the path to re-position the socio economic lives of Africans.
We do not only find the talent and leadership in young
African, but let them express the leadership in them to the
fullest. We’re driven by the principle that we’re the Africa
generation that built. And we’re ready to live up the
responsibility, not by wishes non decision, but by acting.
Our History
3. During Module 5 of the Ashoka Future Forward Course in
2015 , a group of participants began a conversation in a
whatsapp group aimed at post course collaboration,
connections and partnership. An idea of gathering at the
summit was born well before module 6 affirmed what this
group of changemakers Scholars were envisioning.
Approximately 30 course participants came together to form
the African Changemakers Leadership Team and Committees,
and invited course participants to engage in democratic
selections for ACN Leadership Team. Directly out of the
course , a new organization has been formed, and will be
engaged further for development during the 2016 Future
Forward activities and beyond .
Agricultural projects are potentially able to transform the
story of `African economies plus the human resource
available and increasing technology with potentials of
4. optional energy sources. Now at a time when Sustainable
Development goals are fashioned towards social
entrepreneurship and so many opportunities of partnership
therefore exist to tilt our resources towards achieving these
goals is a great dream for the network as so many
opportunities exist for prospective partnership as our vision
call on a synergy of support to see Africa realize it dream by
developing youths and their skills to build a dream Africa.
There exist an axis of reconciling a great global problem with
17 Sustainable Development Goals endorsed by the United
Nations with it partner states. We believe in a possible
realization of these dreams through youth entrepreneurship
.We pledge to create an atmosphere of social transformation
to tilt change towards building strata for the realization of
these goals to bring emergency to the entire continent. We
thereby hope it will be a platform for the United Nations and
it agencies and all other partners that buy into the vision to
5. build a holistic atmosphere that favour the network and it
advocacy.
The growing market is promising with high demand from
primary to tertiary sector across the African space from the
South evergreen tropical rain forest to the Savannah and with
54 African Nations represented with so many of them having
good continental shelf and accessing the sea routes and high
importation potentials and export. There is still enough
technology needed to tape high deposit of mineral resources,
Oil and gas deposits that technology is still imported since the
days of independence. It is high time to use local technology
to change the ever unchanging story for Africa. Growing
tourism is still a story untold with so many resources like
forest resources that we dream to harness youth skills to tap
the resources to develop Africa from it roots and sustain to
advancing giant global community. African Countries are rich
but the human resources to harness the resources are poor,
6. making the prospective rich continent to be a struggling
economy now with passionate and talented youths willing to
initiate and empower a network that can use youth and social
innovation to bring permanent change as OUR DREAM is to
realize the story for Africa as a promise land. Africa is the
future! This is the time to direct foreign philanthropist
activities by investing in youth sustainable activities as ACN
is out to inculcate the spirit of social entrepreneurship to
promote sustainability and avoid future dependency. If we can
so much belief in Africa it is because we are sure that ACN is
able and has the potentials to grow Africa from within by
developing it talents, we advocate for local solution for local
problem.
We stand for a change in the story, gone are the days when
civic society activism was only charity and philanthropic
activism without sustainability. Now we belief in the spirit of
entrepreneurship and sustainability through social innovation
7. that can see Africa stand on its own as we see the great
continent growing from within and standing out as the future
of the globe . We see the future that Africa will rather give
than take and also an era those youths becomes a problem
than solutions. We do not hate charity but we want
entrepreneurship and sustainability because foreign charity in
the past only made Africa always a reliant continent but now
we stand to make Africa a great partner of change than a
beneficiary of aid. We see Africa a contributor than a
receiver.
We have what it takes to work with any partner at all levels
and we keep our doors open to see as many projects as
possible from micro to macro levels.
Why we need more hands to succeed?
We do rely but on youths but the same youths need the support
of their various sympathizers to help them to realize their
8. dreams but this has not been the situation and therefore it is
not an easy task to do this without external support. We will
never stop thinking of where we're lagging behind in order to
be able to maintain our equilibrium as a leading partner in
African business transformation.
There is a huge problem as there are still no resources to
support solve the traditional start-ups at all levels put in place
by the African Youths. In this case we have to go a long way
to provide solutions to this dream transformation.
9. To have digital transformation and solutions to startups that
we intend to obtain external support from partners and
stakeholders. It’s true though that the era of the birth of ACN
has witnessed the internet of things and big data, the era of
third generation agriculture, advance transportation and
increase studies of business and sciences as engineering
continue to unveil the undiscovered but the worse is that the
story does not look promising if we do not have external
support and follow up to see these opportunities well
transformed to fit in to the need of the youths and society.
Hinterlands still exist with poor rural electricity network and
farm to markets roads and to promote agriculture and other
primary activities it will take a long time although patience
counts to make change but we need to stretch hands across
with endless support of stakeholders to make this dream a
reality.
Opportunities
10. Increasing spirit of social innovation among the network as
youths have a growing passion to engage in community level
projects at all levels with the support of our network we have
put in place driven by our new spirit of transformation as
African Change Makers Network. ACN is ready to inculcate
the talents and beliefs that there is no business engagement
without addressing a social problem, loving to environment as
we encourage corporate social responsibility and social
innovation. We encourage total and fast border transfer of
skills and collaboration. We envision a high degree of
collaboration among all stakeholders and corporate social
11. responsibility at all levels. Technical pipeline in B2B and B2C
plus B2G in an integrated approach.

youth development skills to support these emerging and
expanding markets. We channel the right business partners to
