Ms Mary Ann Manja Bayang of Indigenous Peoples Rights International was speaking in a workshop at Asia Pacific People's Forum for Sustainable Development (in lead up to intergovernmental UNESCAP Asia Pacific Forum for Sustainable Development or APFSD). Manja is an indigenous person, a human rights lawyer, with two decades of activism and advocacy on Indigenous Peoples rights and extensive engagement in the discourse on Business and Human Rights. She assisted the work of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (2015-2020). Her work experience includes programe management and coordination, research, advocacy and capacity building. She makes her legal services available and pro bono for human rights cases.
