Title of Research: Nursing Leadership Perspectives on Novice Nurses’ Documentation Abilities
Researcher: Bobbie R. Masters-- PhD learner at Capella University currently in the dissertation
phase.
Purpose of Research: The purpose of this research study will be to present a picture of the
registered novice nursing documentation ability from the perspective of unit-based nursing
leadership.
Privacy and Identification Facts:
No identifiable personal questions will be asked beyond socio-demographic level of
education, length of employment.
No identifiable organizational connection will be requested of participant.
Criteria for determining eligibility:
Participant must be a registered nurse leader with unit-based responsibility.
Participant must have been employed as a nurse leader for 2 years on the unit-base.
Restrictions/Communication/Enrollment/Time Commitment Required:
Enrollment is voluntary and will require accepting an informed consent agreement before
becoming active in the research. Participants may voluntarily cease taking part in the
study at any point.
Time required of each participant: The response time may require 15-30 minutes to
answer the interview questions from a personal perspective.
