Bishwa Bandhan Foundation for Cerebral Palsy was founded in 2012 in Switzerland and India to provide support for those suffering from cerebral palsy. The foundation aims to establish medical facilities, conduct research, raise awareness, and prevent cerebral palsy through education. It has partnerships with hospitals and medical organizations in India and Switzerland. Upcoming activities include international medical symposiums in Zurich and Kolkata to discuss prevention and treatment of cerebral palsy.
2. • Bishwa Bandhan Foundation for Cerebral Palsy was founded in Zurich,
Switzerland in May, 2012, as the brain child of Shri Goutam Mitra, Founder
& President, and was supported by the then Governor of West Bengal,
Hon’ble Shri M. K. Narayanan, the eminent playback singer Kumar Shanu,
the brand ambassador, Ms Denise Stucki, eminent linguist, Trustee
member & Secretary of the International body to fight against Cerebral
Palsy world wide.
• The India chapter, named Bishwa Bandhan Foundation (India) for Cerebral
Palsy, was formed in 2013 and registered under section 25, non-profit
company at Kolkata, India.
3. • Our inspiration is Abhishek Mitra, a young lad of 27, was suffering from
Cerebral Palsy and passed away on 26th June, 2014 due to lack of
medical awareness and unavailability of special care system for non-
progressive cerebral palsy.
• Our oath is that we will save millions of other Abhisheks throughout the
world in every possible cases of lack of medical awareness.
4. In India: more than 25 lacs of children
Global rate: around 2.2 to 2.8 per 1000 live birth.
5. • Our belief is Prevention is better than Cure, always.
• We would like to advertise every possible step for prevention of Cerebral Palsy,
from planning of a family, pregnancy, delivery and up to the age of 2 of every child
so that the curse of the disease would cease to exist.
• To provide latest medical technology & research oriented benefits to everyone
related to cerebral palsy, the suffering patients, their guardians, Doctors, Para-
medical & nursing staff, so that an ultra-modern treatment with latest therapeutic
technology could be provided to the patient under one-roof in a comfortable way
by establishing a state-of-the-art Medical Institution.

The Foundation is going to organize –
• 1st International Medical Symposium at Kongresshaus, Zurich,
Switzerland involving more than 200 countries worldwide on 26th
May, 2015.
• A physical therapy workshop with active participation of eminent
therapists and children with cerebral palsy and their guardians very
soon.
• A rehab therapy unit in collaboration with its associated medical
organization(s).
• A combined medical & cultural event on 25-26th June, 2015 at Kolkata.

Tripathi at Crystal Room, Taj Bengal, Kolkata. We appeal to all
professionals of the medical world and people in general to attend our
1st International Medical Symposium on 26th May, 2015 at
Kongresshaus, Zurich, Switzerland involving more than 200 countries
worldwide. We sincerely seek the support of all in our fight for
prevention of Cerebral Palsy and to develop medical awareness among
people in every layer of the society by building a warm relationship
between Doctors and Patients which will lead us to develop a SAFER
SOCIETY.
