2. RHEUMATIC FEVER
• It is an immunological disorder initiated by group A beta hemolytic
streptococcus.
• A disease that can result from inadequately treated strep throat or scarlet
fever.
• This is a systemic inflammatory disease of childhood that can involve the
heart, joints, CNs, skin and tissues.

4. DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION
According to revised jones criteria:
• The diagnosis is made when
2 of major criteria or 1 major criteria
+
2 minor criteria
are present along with the evidence of streptococcal infection ( elevated
ASLO titre).
8. MANAGEMENT
• Beta streptococcal infection can prevent.
• Anti – inflammatory medication like aspirin
• Antibiotic.
• Bed rest is recommended during the acute phase of disease.
