According to ILO, there are globally about
2.2 million work-related deaths annually,
equivalent to 1 death every 15 seconds.
The largest share of work related fatalities is
made up by fatal diseases: 2-1.7 million
deaths annually.
The annual number of non-fatal work
related diseases has been estimated to be
160 million.
