2. Content of Starlink
Introduction of Starlink
Plan of Starlink
How does starlink work
Limitations of starlink Satellite Internet
Advantages of starlink
Disadvantages of starlink
3. What is IDEA
Satellite Constellation.
SpaceX Plans to launch the 12000
Satellites in Earth’s orbit.
LEO. Starlink satellite launch in use
of rocket falcon 9 block 5, Falcon
Heavy can launch 60 Starlink
satellites at the same time.
Coverage of internet World Wide
Web.
100% Coverage.
4. What is Starlink
It is sponsored by Space X, a company owned by Elon Musk.
Starlink is a satellite based internet project
High Speed and Low latency.
Each satellite in this Elon Musk’s starlink project weighs just 573 lbs(260kg).
Space X will fix its satellites in LEO(lower earth orbit) to provide faster internet
speed.
It aims to provide reliable high speed internet to the entire globe.
When finished. It will provide internet access to places that have never had
internet access before.
5. Working of Starlink
V band will be used in starlink (40 to 75 GHZ) and
K & Kaband(12 To 18GHZ)(27 to 40 GHZ)
Satellite to satellite will communicate with laser
(>10000 GHZ)
Phased Array Antenna.
When these satellites are put in orbit, a single
large, solar array comes out to power the
satellite.
The main portion includes four powerful antennas
for internet transmissions
They also have lasers that connect each satellite
with four others in orbit.
12. What is Motorized Antenna.
The dish is motorized to make aiming adjustments.
13. How will starlink satellites work in
Weather.
Bad Weather has an effect.
Has heater for snow melting.
Tested for High wind.
14.
15. Total Cost and profit of starlink
project.
The SpaceX satellite development facility in Redmond, Washington, houses
the Starlink research, development, manufacturing, and orbit control teams.
The cost of the decade-long project to design, build, and deploy the
constellation was estimated by SpaceX in May 2018 to be at least US$10
billion.
In February 2017, documents indicated that SpaceX expects more than US$30
billion in revenue by 2025 from its satellite constellation.
16. How many Starlink satellites have been
launched in space so far?
2,335 Starlinks have been launched, with 2,110 still in orbit. Of those, 1,608
are in the licensed operational shells and 447 are undergoing orbit raising
towards those shells as of April 2022.
17. Now in how many countries starlink
satellites is used since starting.
Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by SpaceX providing
satellite Internet access coverage to 28 countries on Earth with ambition to
extend coverage to the whole world.2,335 Starlinks have been launched, with
2,110 still in orbit.
For Example. United States, Canada, Germany, Ukraine, Brazil etc.
19. Disadvantages of Starlink
Availability.
Self-Installation.
Slower Speeds than cable.
Weather Interference
20. Disadvantages of Starlink
Availability :-
Satellite internet is known for having wide coverage. However, Starlink is only in
its beta phase right now and only has a fraction of its satellites launched. This
means that for the time being, most people don’t have access to it. There’s a thin
strip of latitudes in only a few countries that can even sign up. This will improve
eventually, but for now its coverage is quite lacking.
Self-Installation :-
This is an advantage for many people. You don’t have to schedule a technician to come to your
house, and you don’t have to pay an extra $100 for installation. However, for many this will be a
disadvantage. They don’t want to deal with installation guides or ladders or their roofs and the
convenience of self-installation turns into an inconvenience.
21. Disadvantages of Starlink
Slower Speeds than cable :-
Starlink is outperforming many satellite internet companies. However, satellite has long been known
as the internet type that sacrifices performance for reach. Starlink is no different. What it provides is
better than what most people need, but it isn’t going to compare to the top cable and fiber internet
companies.
Weather Interference :-
This is common with all satellite internet providers. Weather is an unavoidable obstacle. While many
Starlink users are reporting strong signals during heavy rain, there is always going to be at least a
small effect, and sometimes even outages.
