Top 10 Most Expensive and Rare Teas You Might Not Know
About
Our day starts with tea, but the tea we drink costs $4 to $5 a kilogramme.
However, there are certain really rare teas and tea leaves that sell for millions of
dollars around the world. So, I'll tell you about the top 10 most expensive teas in
the world.
Everything seems incomplete without a cup of tea, whether it's the guests or the
talk with friends. Despite the fact that there are many distinct flavours available
around the world, some people may have only sampled one or two sorts of tea.
So, let me tell you about the most expensive tea in the world. Some of the Tea's
prices are among the most expensive, and you won't believe how much a simple
tea may cost.
10 – Tienchi Flower Tea
This tea is cultivated in the Chinese province of Yunnan. The Tienchi flower is
also known as “Panax Notoginseng.” The term "Cure-All" refers to a wide range
of medications.
As a result, this tea is known as the healthiest tea on the planet. Because it is
created from these flowers, drinking this tea cleanses your body.
Aside from that, this tea is good for people who have trouble sleeping. This tea,
which stimulates the immune system, is excellent in treating most skin diseases
and costs roughly $164 per kilo.
9 – Imperial Silver Tips Tea.
Suggestions for Silver Imperial Tea is grown 33 kilometres south of Darjeeling in
Makai Bari, India. This tea is only broken by the moonlight. You'll be surprised to
find that only Makaibari tea garden employees break the buds of this tea
because the sun's rays change its aura and smell.
On full moon nights, the torch is carried in hand, or the corn garden plantation
workers pluck their buds. Its leaves are gathered up on the ground in the same
way that gold coins are. Each year, only 50 to 100 kilogramme of Silver Tips
Imperial tea are produced.
Customers are primarily from Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The United Kingdom's Royal Family is also represented. Silver Tips Imperial got
its name from their silvery leaves. It also has a lovely aroma. Aside from that, it
completely calms the drinker.
It is claimed to be the soil's honey, and it is more valuable than any Indian tea,
with three overseas buyers paying $2,327 per kilogramme in 2014. A kilogramme
of this tea will set you back around $400.
8 – Gyokuro Tea.
In Japanese, gyokuro means "diamond dew." This tea is grown in the town of Uji
in Japan. The leaves of this tea are dried in the sun for two weeks without being
crushed. As a result of this process, amino acids are produced, giving it its
world-famous flavour.
Gyokuro Tea is prepared in a certain style that sets it apart from other teas. It
must be taken out of the sun two weeks prior to harvest, according to the
instructions.
It has a similar flavour to green tea, but the darker the colour, the richer the
flavour, and this tea costs almost $650 per kilogramme.
7 – Poo Poo Pu-Erh Tea.
The origins of Poo Poo Pu-Erh can be traced back to the 18th century. Chinese
doctors had learned that this tea might be used as a medicine at the time.
This tea, on the other hand, is prepared without leaves and contains no plant.
Some people may find hearing how it's made strange.
The tea leaves are consumed by insects that dwell on plants, and the leaves fall
to the ground, where they are collected, because this tea tree is made with the
help of insects that live on plants.
According to some, Taiwanese farmers collect the faeces of these insects and
then make this tea. In Yunnan, China, it costs around $1,000 per kilogramme.
6 – Tieguanyin Tea.
The name of this tea comes from a Buddhist guru. Who was Guanyin, the tea
whose name appears on a list of the most expensive teas in the world? This tea
can only be found in China.
This tea is distinguished by the fact that it is frequently boiled or coloured. It has
a delectable taste and is also good for our health.
This tea is a blend between black and green teas, and the best thing is that a
single leaf contains enough flavour to brew seven cups of tea. That means you
can make seven cups of tea from only one leaf. That could explain why this tea
costs roughly $1.50. 3,000 dollars per kilogramme.
5 – Yellow Gold Tea Buds.
This tea is grown in the city-state of Singapore. The leaves of this tea are yellow
with a golden design on them. The leaves are only plucked once a year, and the
tea is regarded to be helpful to one's health.
Only one day is broken with gold scissors at a precise area. TWG Company has
a huge number of tea connoisseurs, but due to limited supply, only a select few
are able to purchase it. Perhaps this explains why 1 kg costs $3,000 or more.
4 – Vintage Narcissus Wuyi Oolong Tea.
This tea comes from a nearly 50-year-old tea box. It's an antique object that's
been around for a while. Another distinguishing attribute of this tea is that it is
reported to have been grown on the well-known Wuyi mountain. This 20 kg crate
has been travelling from place to place since 1960.
It had previously resided in China, Singapore, and Hong Kong before being
purchased by a Hong Kong antique collector. The myriad myths and stories
associated with this tea make it special.
This tea, which has a strong connection to China, has been mentioned several
times throughout history. This tea was most recently sold for $6,500.
3 – Panda Dung Tea.
It's created in the same way that the name suggests. It will surprise you to hear
that it is not made from regular manure. Rather, it is made from the faeces of the
panda.
Although this method appears unclean, it is better to chemically treated tea
cultivation.
On a 2.5-acre area of land, this tea is cultivated. Yanchi was the first to cultivate it
and gain ownership of the rights. Perhaps this is why a kilogramme of this tea
now costs $70,000.
2 – PG Tips Diamond Tea Bag.
PG Tips Diamond Tea was manufactured by a British tea company. The company
wanted to do something special to commemorate PG Tips' 75th anniversary.
Ultra Looks Diamond Tea was born as a result.
Around that time, this tea bag was created, and it had 280 diamonds attached to
it. Furthermore, each teabag takes three months to make.
This $15,000 diamond-encrusted tea bag would have weighed only a few
grammes. As a result, predicting its final price, which is expected to be in the
millions of dollars, is difficult. The exorbitant price is justified by the fact that the
proceeds will be donated to the general population.
1 – Da-Hong Pao Tea.
Many people are willing to pay millions of dollars to consume Da-Hong Pao tea
leaves, which are the most expensive tea leaves in the world. Due to the
uniqueness of the tea leaf plant, which demands meticulous care, tea leaves are
expensive.
In China, Da-Hong Pao tea is supposed to help with a range of diseases. During
the Pisces reign, the Empress was cured of the Queen's illness, and the monarch
ordered the planting of Da-Hong Pao tea. This king wore a red robe all of the
time. As a result, the name of this tea leaf is Da-Hong Pao, which means "long
red."
In ancient times, tea growers in China would travel to the mountains early in the
spring to worship tea. To assure a high yield, this tea leaf is said to be cleansed
with goat's milk, cooked, and dried, and the entire process can take up to 80
years.Da-Hong Pao tea leaves are rapidly going extinct.
There are currently only 6 plants of this tea left in the world. It is not possible for
everyone to purchase this tea. Because it features a one-of-a-kind set of
vendors. This tea leaf is in considerable demand outside of China, and it has
been attempted to dwarf it on several occasions.
No one, on the other hand, could ever succeed. This tea, grown in a small village
in Fujian, China, sells for over $1.2 million per kilogramme. This is just amazing.
So there you have it: the top 10 rarest and most expensive teas in the
world. I'm hoping you have some interesting facts to share.
