anything. It could be as simple as writing down your short and long term goals on a piece of paper .In my case, I always have something that motivates
me because that will help me stay focused on achieving my goals. My motivation is knowing I will wake up to something I love doing on a daily basis
once I get my career started. There are a few steps I will need to take to achieve my goal in becoming a medical assistant. My first step includes doing
research on the profession I want to pursue. In my research, I've learned that this profession has rapidly been growing for the past few years. You can
get your degree in a year or two depending on the type of degree you want. It is also a cross–trained profession, which means that you are trained in
more than one skill. That means that there are more job options that you can get. It can also look very good on your resume. I have also researched
the pay for the profession. The average pay rate is $14.5, which is decent to me. Now that I've researched the profession I can move on to the next

The role of the medical assistant is steadily evolving because medical assistants are cross–trained in to perform both administrative and clinical duties.
State law dictates the duties a medical assistant is able to legally perform. The duties carried out by the medical assistant can vary depending on the
location, size and/or specialty of the facility one works within. Just as the scope of practice of medical assistants is evolving and expanding, so has the
need for medical assistants in the health care field. A medical assistant is a non–medical professional who works alongside physicians, nurses, and other
health care professionals to provide care for patients. Medical assistants are not licensed to make independent medical decisions or give advice. To
become a medical assistant, one needs to complete an accredited program, usually through a junior or community college, which can take anywhere
from 9 months to one year. Some do go on to receive an associates degree after completing the diploma or degree course for medical assisting.
Currently only about 15% of medical assistants in the United States are certified, as certification is not mandatory. Certification is usually...show more

The rate of enrollment to medical schools in the United States has decreased from previous years, therefore there will be less licensed physicians
within the health care field, as the older physicians age out. The growing elderly population in the United States, in need of medical care, is another
reason for the increase in need for medical assistants. One last factor is the greater accessibility to health insurance for all. This is driving more people
into the health care system, therefore spawning a need for more non–medical professionals, such as medical assistants who can assist on the
administrative end to get the patients information into the system for care and

acceptance and boundaries of others, but I was able to learn more about myself as well. My externship experience has opened my eyes to the
realities of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, physically and mentally, as well as the importance of family and friends. DePaul Medical Center and In

The main task of my internship was to gain more experience and knowledge of our respective field. Overall, the experience proved to be both
enjoyable and rewarding. During this internship I used the skills that I learned from my Medical Assistant class and used them in the real world

Not only did I learn about the job and what it consists of, I learned about different diagnoses and ways to cope and address different situations surrounding them that I can use in my personal life. Overall, the most valuable lesson I took away from my externship experience was that at the end of the day it does not matter who you are, young or old, black or white, rich or poor, Christian or Atheist, your life can change in a matter of seconds. Having family and friends who are supportive as well as medical staff who are patient and genuine can significantly impact your recovery or transition period. With that being said, empathy, respect, and patience are three of the most important qualities I feel a medical assistant should Get more content on HelpWriting.net
