  • 8. Project planning involves renovations with an office and Saint Paul Lutheran Church classroom addition to a 1960 church building, yet as the Phase One• Addition and Renovation fund raising situation became clear it was revised to focus Mount Prospect Illinois • with Goss Pasma Architects Prospect, on building renovation for now and construct the addition in a second phase. The chancel was changed to a stage‐like configuration, and the sanctuary was modified to better engage the side aisles, including two small angled expansions to unify these with the main sanctuary. ADA compliance of the l l f h lower l l was a priority so an addition level dd to accommodate an elevator was economically constructed. It was studied to place the elevator in the existing building but proved to be too costly. . Phase two will wrap around this and create a scenic courtyard visible from a new fellowship hall. A parsonage was also renovated for temporary church offices. ecclesi al ects iastica proje Project Team: Goss Pasma Architects, Berneche2 Architecture, CJW Engineers (mep/fp), Patrick Engineering (site), Ragnar Benson, Construction Manager 8 berneche² architecture, pc www.berneche2.com

Elkhart Central High School Addition and Renovations • Elkhart Community Schools Elkhart, Indiana• with Fanning/Howey Associates cts educational projec Timothy Berneche served as Project Architect with Fanning/Howey Associates, Inc., Michigan City, Indiana. The project began as a simple fifteen classroom addition to a 1965 building. Further design study revealed a benefit of converting the existing library into science classrooms and adding on a new library and administrative wing. This allowed all science labs to be grouped together. New Music and Drama Classrooms were added. Curves of the addition minimize lost parking and modernized the boxy look. A curved canopy defines entry, provides sunshade for library windows, and unifies the high school with a new daycare wing. The curved music/drama wing maximizes available land by following a curved road. Interior work included renovation of all classrooms, industrial tech wing overhaul, and ADA compliance to all existing areas.
