21. • The Ford GP event occurs annual with it’s 3rd event taking place this past June.
• This has been meaningful in that Korean auto parts makers attend the event
based on the specific demands from Ford.
• The entire process of reaching an actual supply agreement generally takes 3 to 5 years
• Therefore, the immediate benefit of this event would be the number of meetings held
between the participating companies and Ford’s buyers and engineers.
• This event saves the company massive resources by bringing the suppliers directly to
you and assists in avoiding initially expensive, international business trips.

• Industry: Transmission gear box housing
• Substituted conventional steel products with aluminum through gravity
die casting method, which allows for a lighter weight
• Vehicle type & volume: Fusion & Focus, Approx. 1 million units
• Contract volume: US $75 million (US $ 15 m/y X 5 years)
• Production timeline: 2015 2nd half
Hanjoo Metal was able to further discuss with Ford during the event on
reducing the transmission weight, and completed negotiations with the buyers
and engineers who attended.

Seoul Economy, E-daily, and Yonhap News.
