3. Located in the coastal region of the
country, southwest of it. Its capital is
the city of Guayaquil. It is the largest
industrial center in Ecuador. With its 3.8
million inhabitants, Guayas is the most
populated province in the country,
constituting 24.5% of the population of
the Republic. The province takes its
name from the largest and most
important river in its territory, the
Guayas River. The city of Guayaquil is
not only the largest city in the province,
with its 2.5 million inhabitants, but also
the largest city in Ecuador.

Festivities
The festivities of Guayaquil are a reflection of the culture
and history of that city. With these, tribute is paid to
historical figures, indigenous natives and all the people
who have been part of Guayaquil.
Guayaquil foundation
For the months of July, in commemoration of the Guayaquil Foundation, July
25 of each year. The festivities for these are characterized by their parades in
various sectors of the city and art exhibitions in the Las Peñas neighborhood
of Cerro Santa Ana.
Carnival
Carnival in Guayaquil is celebrated with a mass of the god Momo. This is
done on Sunday morning. At present they carry out parades with floats and
dancers, who go to the sound of the samba or the sound of the band. They
also choose King Momo, the Queen and Princess of Carnival and the typical
costume of Miss Ecuador.
October parties
They are celebrated throughout the month of October of each year, especially
on October 9, when military parades and civic parades are held, and the M.I.
Municipality holds the "Solemn Session" in memory of the independence of
Guayaquil. It is customary for students to carry the Guayaquil flag. They also
hold concerts, fairs and some traditional games.

Ceviche
It is usually served with the broth left by the food when cooking so that
the dish has more flavor. There may be various types of shrimp,
prawns, oysters, fish.
Fish soup with onions
This fish broth or stew is also made with onion, pepper and garlic, and
coriander, yucca and albacore are also usually added. This typical dish
is said to have the power to take away a hangover after a night out.
Bolón de verde
Ideal for breakfast or as a starter to a meal, it is made with green
plantains forming a kind of dough filled with Creole cheese or chorizo.
It can be accompanied by a fried egg and a cup of coffee for breakfast.

6. Clothing
In the province of Guayas, a regional dress is used for their traditional
acts or festivals in the province.
In this region it is common to observe the gentlemen wearing guayaberas,
they are dressed together with black pants and an elegant hat, a form of
tradition, particularly of those who live in Guayaquil.

which they decorate with white lace.

7. Malecon 2000
Tourist spot
Located in front of the Guayas river. In 1996 the Malecón 2000 was
inaugurated, the municipality of Guayaquil began the urban generation
since 1999, culminating the work in 2000, with the mayor's office in charge
of Jaime Nebot; becoming a tourist icon of the city of Guayaquil.
