I joined Snowy Mountain Engineering Corporation (SMEC)
as Embankment Engineer (Seconded Staff of DAMS Implementation Unit – ROSARIES Dam
Heightening Project ), the work consists of:
 Visual inspection of the embankment filling materials, such as clay, sand, clayey sand,
filter materials, river gravel and rock materials.
 Supervision of setting-out of design lines and control of the embankment filling
geometry.
 Layer thickness and compaction control together with the laboratory engineer.
 Layer approval and contribution to the preparation of daily reports.
Then integrated in the geological engineering team for supervision of:
 Checking the structural integrity of the Relief Wells.
 Recovery of Relief Wells by flushing and clear pumping.
 Testing of the Relief Wells by pumping tests.
