The Daily Routine
Every morning, the sun rises in the east. Birds sing their songs, and people wake up to
start their day. John is one of those people. He lives in a small house in a quiet
neighborhood.
John's alarm clock goes off at 6 AM. He gets out of bed, stretches, and yawns. Then, he
goes to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face. After that, he heads to the
kitchen to make a cup of coffee.
While sipping his coffee, John checks his emails and plans his day. He leaves for work at 8
AM. He walks to the nearby bus stop and waits for the bus. The bus arrives on time, and
he gets on board.
5. At work, John is a software engineer. He writes code, tests software, and attends meetings. He
finishes work at 5 PM and takes the bus back home.
In the evening, John usually goes for a run in the park. He loves running because it helps him
relax. Afterward, he prepares dinner and watches TV for a while. Before going to bed, he reads a
book to unwind.
Finally, at 10 PM, John turns off the lights and goes to sleep, ready to start another day when
the sun rises in the east.
This short story demonstrates the use of the simple present tense to describe John's daily
routine and habits. The actions and events are presented as regular occurrences in the present
time.
