Africa continues to face the challenge of Digital Exclusion and with the world gradually shifting to the 4th Industrial Revolution, Africa needs to capitalise on Digital Inclusion or be left behind. Digital Inclusion proves to be too demanding for Africa with its lack of ICT Infrastructure to support it.
What if you could provide the power of the Internet to everyone, regardless of their economic or social status? Brastorne aims to disrupt economic inequalities as it continues to expand its solutions across Africa.

4. Of Africa’s 1 billion people, 350 million own mobile phones – yet most lack
meaningful digital access. Increasingly, the path to economic opportunity is
through the internet. The digital gap between those with and without access to
the internet reinforces and exacerbates existing social inequities.
The Challenge
5. The Impact
Brastorne upconverts feature phones into digital portals at
<$0.03/day, leveraging data protocols over standard telco
networks. Broadly, we serve the rural poor in Africa, 80% of
who rely on farming through our solution mAgri. mAgri, a
multi-channel solution providing farmers access to advisory
services, weather/pest alerts, crop prices, and financial
services through low-cost communication on their feature
phones via USSD, IVR, or voice.

6. What’s Next
• Geographical Expansion: In order for us to reach our goal of connecting
the unconnected, there is a need for expansion into African countries
that have low prevalence of access to information.
• The goal is to expand into 19 different countries in Africa to promote
digital inclusion and connect the unconnected, a combined user base
of 49 million.
• By end of October 2022 our solution will be live in Cameroon, and we
plan to be in Mali and Burkina Faso by the end of 2022. Essentially, 5
years from today, we aim to have impacted over 49 million lives in
Africa across 19 African countries with Telcos in the specific countries
with a low rate of connectivity.
