We will explore the power in our pocket in terms of photography. I’ll share things learned with the hope you will take away something that will help you with your own creativity.
We’ll review some basic and advance smart phone camera techniques and what can be done with the images in your phone using apps that can help.
I’ll be using my iPhone for examples however, most apps will also work with Android for post processing.
I like to think of that devise in our pockets as our personal studio. So much can be done. Be creative!

3. How To Open The Camera App
1.) Power on, swipe from right to left.
2.) Launch your device and click the
camera app.
3.) Long press the camera icon and select
what you want to do. Take a selfie, slow
mo, etc.
4.) Swipe up from the bottom and launch
the camera app from the control panel.
4. How To Take A Photo
1.) Press the shutter button in the app.
2.) Press the volume up or down button.
3.) Use your earbuds that came with the
phone.

Now you have a remote shutter release for
those photos you need to reduce camera
shake.

5. Stabilize Your Shot
1.) Sometimes you need to stabilize your
shot. For a time-lapse, video, or just that
perfect photo.
2.) This small tripod with removable holder
is great. You can use the holded on a
taller tripod when required.
3.) There are many styles and price
ranges to choose from.

with a ¼” X 20
thread mount.
6. Focus
1.) Your iPhone will use auto focus however
you can change that giving you the power to
choose what object you want to focus on but
touching that object before you click the shutter
button.
2.) If you want to fix focus on an object you can
long press on an object. AE/AF LOCK will
appear on the screen. Now you can move your
camera and it will stay focused on that object.
3.) To turn it off just touch the screen again.

7. Exposure
1.) To manually adjust the exposure of your
shot. Tap on the screen and swipe up or down
to adjust the exposure.
2.) You can also long press on an object to fix
focus on that object as we did above. AE/AF
LOCK will come on the screen. Then you can
swipe up and down to adjust exposure.
3.) To turn it off just touch the screen again.

8. Burst Mode
1.) To capture that perfect shot, just press and
hold the shutter button. This will continue to
take pictures as long as you hold the shutter
button.
2.) In your photo gallery you will see a burst
photo. It will say burst mode and how many
photo you took.
3.) Press the select button on the bottom to
select the photos you want to keep. Tap done
and it will ask you do you want to keep the
selected photos or all of them. It will delete the
rest.

9. Timer
1.) Turn on the timer at the top of the
screen and now you can select 3 or 10
seconds.Timer

10. Live Photo
1.) Turn on “Live Photo”.
2.) This will capture 1 1/2 seconds of
video before and after capturing the
image. From your gallery you can select
what image you want to make your
primary shot including “Long Exposure”.

2. Select Long Exposure.
3. That’s it.

13. Settings
1.) Setting can be accessed from the
camera app itself. You have to go to
settings and open camera from here.
2.) From here you can select what option
you what to turn on or off like the grid,
recording video quality, slow motion
setting. You can also select to keep the
normal photo and the HDR photo
simultaneously.
14. Adding Color
1.) From the camera app, tap the
quick filter on the top right corner of
the app.
2.) From the photo app. Tap edit,
then filter.

15. Selecting The Type Of Photo
1.) Time-Lapse, Slo-Mo, Video, Photo,
Portrait, Square, Pano (panorama).

16. RAW
1.) You can not take RAW photos from
the native app on the phone. However,
There are apps that will allow you to do
this. One is called RAW or RAW+. It will
save it as a DNG file.
2.) Then you can transfer it to your
computer for editing.
3.) Keep in mind that this will take up
more space on your device.
17. Dual Lens
1.) This feature will allow you to take a
photo and blur that background. Adding
that bhaucha effect or shallow debts of
field giving you that professional look.

2.) Open your camera roll and select a photo.
3.) Click edit.
4.) From here you will have some basic options such
as:
cropping
rotation
You'll have some filters
You can adjust the light, Color or go to B&W

1.) You can live stream direct from your device using apps like
Facebook live and YouTube.
2.) Just like Facetime which is a one on one video calling app.
Live streaming allows you to send out your message or share an
experience in real time to your friends and followers.
3.) This is a very powerful social tool that can be used for
marketing.
4.) Video has been growing in an outstanding rate.
