4. Q1
As Chinese immigrants moved into the United States, Chinese cuisine has
become increasingly popular in America, and many dishes have been adapted
to suit local tastes.
One theory about the origins of a popular dish suggests that it was developed
in Chinese-American restaurants in the 20th century. The dish likely evolved
from traditional rice recipes, with the addition of chicken and a specific cooking
process. This process involves cooking rice certain number of times, each time
adding different ingredients and flavors to enhance the taste and texture.
Thus, the dish derives its name from the cooking process and a number of
times it's prepared. Which dish?

18. Q5
The phrase "X and Y" has its roots in ancient times as Y were a valuable commodity, prized for their
flavor, fragrance, and medicinal properties. The Y trade was dominated by Arab merchants who
travelled over long distances. To preserve the Y during transport, the Arab merchants would pack
them in X, which would help keep the spices fresh and prevent them from spoiling.
Over time, the phrase "X and Y" came to be associated with the exotic flavors and aromas of the
East, and it became a popular catchphrase in Europe. In the 19th century, the phrase became a
popular slogan for ice cream vendors, who would sell their sweet, creamy treats in markets. They
would often add X to their ice cream, creating unique and flavourful combinations that were a hit
with customers.
A certain place shares the same phrase & is the only place on campus where BIBLE VERSES are
written on the walls.

In the centre is one of BPGC's most famous alumni, Lucky Kaul. Recently, graduated from
IIM-A, he's a popular name in the quizzing circuit having won several quizzes including
TATA Crucible.
His batch was responsible for the creation of one of the
most iconic merchandise designs for any club ever, a
design that has since never been tampered with and
remains the same.
Legend has it the initial draft had "POUNCERS and
BOUNCERS". But to keep it edgy, he changed it to an object
(usually associated with quizzing) with an NSFW style.
What iconic merch am I talking about?

The tiles on campus roofs have a distinct red hue and are known for their durability and
ability to withstand heavy rains and winds. They are named after a coastal city of
Karnataka that they originated in.
In late 16th century when the Portuguese colonized the region, they brought with them a
style of clay tile roofing that was commonly used in their native country. However, these
imported tiles were not well suited to the local climate and terrain. To address this issue,
local craftsmen began experimenting with different types of clay and firing techniques to
create a more durable and weather-resistant tile. They used locally sourced clay that was
high in iron oxide, which gave the tiles their distinctive red color.
Today, these tiles continue to be a popular roofing material, not just in Karnataka but also
in other parts of India and even internationally.
