What is Synthetic Rubella IgM Serum?
A product formulated with real human Rubella IgM
and designed to mimic native disease state serum.
Why do we need it?
Native disease state plasma is used in the
manufacture of controls and calibrators.
However, since most people are vaccinated for
Rubella at a young age it is very difficult to source
a native plasma.
Our synthetic Rubella IgM serum is a great
alternative to native disease state plasma for the
consistent manufacture of controls and calibrators.

5. Our results demonstrate that the 3 Synthetic Rubella IgM Serum batches are
comparable with the native positive control sample; there is also excellent
batch to batch consistency across a dynamic range.

6. How is IgE raised plasma produced in the body?
 IgE antibodies are a distinct class of antibody, specific for particular allergens.
 They bind to the surface of mast cells, which become ‘IgE-sensitised’.
 In this way, the cells can then identify these particular allergens the next time
they come in contact with the body.
 Mast cells are present in tissues that are in contact with the external
environment, including the skin, nose, eyes, mouth, throat, stomach and gut.
 The next time that the same allergen is encountered the mast cells identify it as
an intruder and produce histamine and other chemicals.
 It is the release of these chemicals from mast cells and
their effects on the body that result in allergic symptoms.

7.  The plasma collected by BBI Solutions is collected mainly
from a single donor with an exceptionally high level of Total
IgE.
 Total IgE values for units of this material are typically
>15,000 KU/L with some seasonal variation.
 Titre levels for IgE are measured using either the Beckman
Access or Roche E Modular E170 analysers.
 Current inventory available is >10 L.*
 We are also able to source material for specific IgE, with
donors tested by Phadia ImmunoCap.
