◦ Controlling the temperature & humidity of space at a
required level
◦ Assisting in the removal and dilution of waste anesthetic
gases from the OT
◦ Preventing/ diluting airborne bacterial contamination in the
OT
◦ Controlling the movement of air within the department
OT DESIGN CRITERIA
8. Current Issues of conventional OTs
— No physical zoning system
— Inefficient work flow

— In case of infection, whole the complex needs to be shut down.
— False ceiling with its associated issues.
— Non-availability of dedicated AHUs for OTs
— No proper air filtration
— Improper movement of soiled and dirty linen.
— Delays in maintenance of OT and Sterile Areas.

12. Wall Surfaces
The main requirements for any Operation Theatre wall is that
they should be impact resistant, resistant to solvents,
chemicals & must be bacteria free
Different material could be used as a wall surface of an
operating theatre suite. We mainly use Stainless Steel
panels with supportive baffles for rigidity. Best finish of epoxy
paint is applied and an antibacterial film coating is done
which is guaranteed for at least 10 years.

18. AIR & LIGHT DISTRIBUTION
PLENUM
Air & Light Distribution Plenum
Our Laminar flow system plenum ensures
turbulence free unidirectional air flow.
This ensures the air from the laminar
system directly fall on the patient and
washes away the possible contaminants.
The plenum has also energy efficient, colour rendering LED lights. The
diffusers used are synthetic washable and clear, ensuring easy maintenance
and contaminant free service.
HEPA(high-efficiency particulate air) Filters
Certified Heppa filters are placed on the exit point of
the air duct which ensures clean air into the plenum.
20. CONVENTIONAL AIR
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Diagonal flow systems are the
most turbulent of all available
airflow systems and have a
tendency to entrain the
surrounding contaminated air
and pick up contaminants from
objects within their path
23. ESD VINYL FLOORING
Vinyl is the oldest effective ESD flooring material. Solid vinyl tile (SVT) can
give a hospital the required cleanliness and hygene
Facilities managers often favour vinyl floor because vinyl has a reputation for
being inexpensive, simple to repair and easy to clean
The joints between individual tiles are welded by heat fusion process to get a
seamless floor
MODULAR OT FLOORING
Electrostatic conductive vinyl covering has high
resistance against chemical & mechanical strains.
Homogeneous installation at wall connections and has
a wide color range to suit the decor and ambiance.
It is easy to install, repair, clean and maintain as well

27. Why hermetic sealing for sliding doors . . .?
Contamination risks in the room are under control
Disinfecting is quicker & safer
Control the positive pressure in the room
The number of air changes and amount of clean air required is
reduced, saving money
Less clean air is necessary with hermetic doors
Controlled theatre atmosphere: constant temperature of 18ºC
- 24ºC and a humidity of 40 – 60% can be easily controlled
In case of fire, prevents smoke from spreading
Creating a quite environment in & outside the theatre
