Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Letter of recommendation from August Weil
1. February 21, 2013
To whom it may concern,
It is my pleasure to recommend one of my best student employees, August Sheets. I hired August to work for me
in the summer of 2012. He was hired to mow 20 acres of manicured campus turf. That’s right 20 acres! When it
comes to mowing this amount of turf, not only does it need to be cut, it needs to aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
August was by far the best mower I have had during my tenure at Whitworth University. He took the time to make
sure that the presentation was perfect.
August was always on time, excited to go to work, and was one of the few who I could always count on to be at
work. As the summer progressed August knew exactly what was expected of him. He was a self starter! His work
ethic, integrity and honesty where greatly appreciated! I have no reservation in saying that he will bring these
great characteristics with him in his future employment opportunities.
Albert Einstein said, “I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the garbage man or the president of the
university.” I see this kind of respect inside August Sheets. August was always respectful to me and his co-
workers. He was respectful to the equipment that was entrusted to him to operate. He cared and maintained his
piece of equipment better than expected. Respect is August Sheets greatest quality.
I believe August Sheets would be a great fit in any working environment. His dedication to perfection, great work
ethic, integrity, honesty, and respect make him an easy recommendation. Take a chance on August Sheets, he will
not let you down. I am always open for further follow up.
Sincerely,
August A. Weil
