3. INTRODUCTION
• There are several birds in kerala.Each one is unique
and different. Study of bird is called ornithology.
Salim Ali was called ",bird man of India". Human
beings highly exploit natural resources and most of
birds facing thread of extinction. So birds and its
environment should be properly protected for
avoid extinction.

4. GREAT HORN BILL
. The state bird of kerala,
Buceros bicornis also known
as Greater Indian hornbill
.It is the largest member of
hornbill family
.It is found in the evergreen
forest of kerala
. The bill is yellow and curved
downward
. India hornbill are rare and threatened
with extinction

5. GREY JUNGLE FOWL
• The grey jungle fowl
(Gallus sonneratii) is one
Of the wild ancestors of the
domestic chicken
.Endemic to peninsular India
Where it occurs in evergreen
and deciduous forest

6. RUFOUS TREEPIE
• It is a treepie native to the

southeast Asia
. It is a member of crow
family,covidae.
.It is commonly found in
agricultural areas,forests,
as well as urban garden.

most distributed
species of owl in the
world and one of the
most widespread of
all species of birds.

Bubulcus ibis.

Of heron found in the
