1. EAT REAL AND GROW
THE MOVEMENT
Who we are: students, faculty, community members
Our mission: By helping individuals improve their nutritional habits, and
introducing alternative methods for healing, we can greatly improve their
mental and physical conditions. We will work with other organizations, offices,
local business, and various initiatives to collaborate on sustainability efforts at
the individual, university, and community level. We will provide students and
faculty with viable skills to find balance in their overall wellness, mind, body,
and spirit. As the first chapter, we want to produce a framework that
will be later implemented at other universities.
Goals:
o Become a formal organization at WCU
o Increase the understanding of the mind, body, and spirit connection
o Transform the eating habits of students and faculty to more conscious
decisions that are more sustainable for individual, university, & community
o Provide students/faculty with the knowledge to flourish as individuals and
find balances in their health as a whole
o Help individuals recognize and describe their feelings, give and receive
feedback, recognize assumptions, set realistic and attainable goals, and
learn problem-solving skills
o Promote viable life skills, activities, and natural traditions/remedies that aid
in decreasing the symptoms of mental instability
o Collaborate with clubs, organizations, offices, businesses, co-ops, and so on
to increase our perspective and reach
o Create programs/events in the community and local high schools
o Expand the organization to other Universities
