4. Good PDHPE teaching is important to help motivate children into physical activity which is essential in our modern sedentary society. Beyond improving physical fitness and motivation for fitness PDHPE is also about a holistic approach to health. This means that many areas of life are targeted.
5. Growth and Development in PDHPE is where students learn about their own physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. Interpersonal Relationships help to develop an understanding of how relationships work and why they are important. Safe Living teaches students about how to live safely by being mindful of their environment and staying away from danger.

Benefits of PDHPE: Promotes healthy and safe living across all areas of life - Being active, health choices , relationships, growth and development etc. Encourages teamwork and cooperation, as well as independent thinking.
