New Project Discussion @ UST
Dr. Arun Surendran, Asst.Prof. Titto Anujan(ECE) and Asst.Prof. Mithun M S (ECE) visited UST
G lobal Campus yesterday and had a discussion on development and demonstration of Quantum
Computing Communication and Cryptography. Simsar and Resmi are the team members from
UST’s Infinity Labs who are experienced in the fields of superconductivity and quantum comput­
ing. Trinity and UST together are chalking out a long term project proposal for the development
of a qubit computer with coupling and similar vital properties demonstrated. More faculty and
students will be added to the Trinity team from the beginning of next semester. Quantum Comput­
ing has immense potential to revolutionise the world of information processing with orders of
magnitude higher speed and processing power. Research teams around the world are engaged
in the process of realization of a physical quantum computer as well as development of quantum
computing algorithms.
