There are a few projects with the following purposes:
The Coverage project – work on increasing the number of airlines available
with the airline ticket search service.
The purpose at the project start: to provide the coverage of 80% of the total
number of the existing airlines.
The Business As Usual project – work on interaction modules with airlines and
Skyscanner OTA-partners (OTA- Online Travel Agency).
The purpose: to integrate new partners and facilitate interaction with the
existing ones.
Goal Sessions – the project on business process optimization in the
DataAcquisition unit (at least 15% of all Skyscanner engineers).
The project purpose: to reduce a tasks lifecycle by 10 times.

To develop new components for data collection and processing, improve the
existing ones, and optimize development process for the.

The Automated Price Accuracy project – automation of accurate price comparison
on Skyscanner website, third-party airlines websites and OTA.
The purpose: to provide the accuracy of a price deviation within 10$ in 95% cases.
The Car Hire project – development and support of data collection and processing
modules on car hire offers.
The purpose: to provide the maximum coverage of car hire agencies.
The Hotels project – development and support of data collection and processing
modules on hotel reservation offers.
The purpose: to provide the maximum choice of hotels among the existing offers.

The Coverage project: increase of the presented
airlines from 300 to ~450 (100 of them are integrated
within 3.5 months of work)

Each subsystem is realized as a separate module that gives the public the admission to
the published information for unregistered users and to a personal user account for data
forming by organizations’ representatives.
ISIA (Integrated System of Identification and Authentication) is used for user
authentication that allows realizing SSO in a multimodule application.
A modular structure gives defined flexibility with the support of separate subsystems,
stability of the system in general, and allocation of the capacity on the database level.
The Client imposes high requirements to the work with the big capacity. Therefore, a
number of works were conducted for optimization of the application.

TFM is composed of the following subsystems:
A counterparties’ registry that supports searching by system and additional
requisite details, viewing and editing data on a selected counterparty, creating
new counterparties
A registry of counterparties’ special accounts that supports viewing all primary
documents provided by a counterparty when opening a special account
A registry of contracts that supports viewing, creating, and editing contracts as
well as maintaining contract calculation
A registry of payment with a sampling method and support of multiple
conditions, with an option of viewing data on payments and primary documents
attached to the payment
A Transactions Financial Monitoring System
CASE STUDY
Project Goal
To develop the Transactions Financial Monitoring (TFM) - an information system
which contains data on and collaboration schemes for these contracts. The system
also includes the hardware and software providing online interaction of the
Contracts Order System with the hardware and software of authorized banks, the
Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Service for Financial Monitoring.
Description
A subsystem of collaboration schemes that allows viewing them with reference to a
contract, counterparty or a group of counterparties; with reference to a grouping by
a natural or legal person; with an option of creating a collaboration scheme available
at a time defined by a user
A subsystem to transfer data from authorized banks on opened/closed special
accounts, payments and attached primary documents, with support of payment
versions that allow banks to correct errors or send previously omitted data, saving
the history of the modifications made.
Solution
Implementation based on open source software
The system was build based on DBMS PostgreSQL. Besides, this DBMS equals
Oracle, MS SQL in productivity, scalability and other important criteria.
In the process of development, the engineers implemented the database that
included hundreds of tables.

After launching the System, the employees of the Customer have got a powerful tool
allowing them to monitor contracts and their fulfillment, build the most effective
collaboration schemes as well as reveal corruption schemes and eliminate them in
due time.

as maintaining contract calculation.

Depending on their roles, System users can get various information, identify flows

The integration approach was based on Spring Integration
The interaction between participating systems was standardized and
implemented by using a number of protocols (SOAP WS, REST WS, Sockets,
SFTP, etc.)
The subsystem for batch processing of financial transactions was based on the
Java EE platform
The subsystem for business transactions and lookup table replication was
designed on the Java EE platform with the access via SOAP and JMSinteraces
(both synchronously and asynchronously).
The integration with payment systems and other systems was done through a
separate application that supported deployment without the system core reload.
