The FPSO Europe Congress
returns after a critically-
acclaimed 1st Year!
Dear Friends of the FPSO Community,
I am delighted to present to you the 2nd Edition of our FPSO Europe
Congress. Launched with great success in 2015, the 2016 event will continue
to provide the largest platform for Europe's oil companies, FPSO contractors
and other relevant stakeholders to engage and brainstorm new strategies
amidst a low oil price environment.
The overarching theme for the 2nd FPSO Europe Congress is “Pursuing
Cost-Optimization and Project Excellence across Europe’s FPSO Value
Chain”. As the oil and gas sector embraces the current reality, it is now a top
priority to reassess the conventional way of conducting FPSO businesses.
Delivery of FPSO projects on-time and within budget is now of critical
importance. How can the FPSO community work collectively to improve
project economics? What are the gaps in communication between oil
companies and FPSO contractors that needs to be addressed in order to
eliminate unnecessary costs? What are the steps to an enhanced, value-
added partnership across the supply chain? How can we successfully reduce
FPSO capital investments yet, maintain operational excellence and safety?
These are questions that will be discussed at the Congress in 2016.
Our Europe Congress in 2016 will see Shell, Premier Oil, SBM Offshore,
MODEC, Tullow Oil, Teekay Offshore Production, Yinson Production
and more taking the stage to share their experience and thought-leadership
on the subject. In addition, for the first-time ever, the agenda will feature
over 10 interactive panel discussions, a key stakeholder dialogue and
working group roundtables, providing you with the best interaction
and engagement with your peers.
Be in the driver’s seat in 2016! With an expected turnout of 250+
participants attending to forge long-term partnerships and gain
inspirations on sustainable FPSO strategies, this is an event you don’t
want to miss. I look forward to your involvement in an exciting FPSO
industry gathering in February 2016!

PRE-CONFERENCEWORKSHOPS
Tuesday, 23 February 2016
WORKSHOP A WORKSHOP B
0900-1200
FPSO Upcoming Projects,
Construction Market & Tender
(ITT) Processes
In the current low oil price environment, the number
of FPSO projects looking set to achieve FID is limited.
In light of limited new business opportunities, it is
important to know where the potential activities and
clients are coming from and have an understanding on
what you can do to submit successful bids.
As operators and clients strive for the lowest price to
make their projects economical, how can the contractors
and service companies make the best out of the
remaining limited opportunities and submit the most
competitive bids? This workshop aims to discuss the
ways to develop marginal fields in the most economical
ways utilizing FPSO-based concepts.
Discussion Points
¡ Investigating the potential size, schedule and location
of global FPSO projects in the next 5 years
¡ Effective contracting tender processes from client and
bidders point of view
¡ Oil companies vs. FPSO contractors’ philosophies in
vendor selection
¡ Forming successful Joint Ventures in low oil price
environment for bidding
Who is this for?
This workshop is designed for investors, project managers,
contract engineers, and service, procurement, engineering
and construction companies involved in the design,
construction and operational phases of FPSO projects.
1300-1600
Maximizing FPSO Production
Recovery & Uptime from an
Operations Perspective
As history shows, to survive low oil price periods,
operators need to concentrate their focus on
maximizing the recovery of hydrocarbons at the lowest
possible costs. This can only be achieved by ensuring
safe and continuous operation of the FPSO without any
loss in the availability and reliability of the asset. While
in some cases, preserving the design life is a challenge
due to poor performance; in most cases it is possible to
extend the life of the FPSO with adequate maintenance
and inspection using the latest state-of-art technology.
Discussion Points
¡ Reviewing new developments in the area of FPSO
operations, maintenance and inspection
¡ What are the proven strategies in enhancing
production volumes?
¡ FPSO life extension best practices and checklist:
s Reliability of topsides system
s Optimizing hull inspections
s Maintaining and replacing mooring systems
¡ Could advances in IT tools help in improving
maintenance and inspection?
Who is this for?
This workshop is designed for managers involved
in OIMs, operations, maintenance, inspection and
reliability, design and project engineers both from oil,
lease and service companies.
Esteemed Leader for both Workshops:

  • 2. The FPSO Europe Congress returns after a critically- acclaimed 1st Year! Dear Friends of the FPSO Community, I am delighted to present to you the 2nd Edition of our FPSO Europe Congress. Launched with great success in 2015, the 2016 event will continue to provide the largest platform for Europe's oil companies, FPSO contractors and other relevant stakeholders to engage and brainstorm new strategies amidst a low oil price environment. The overarching theme for the 2nd FPSO Europe Congress is “Pursuing Cost-Optimization and Project Excellence across Europe’s FPSO Value Chain”. As the oil and gas sector embraces the current reality, it is now a top priority to reassess the conventional way of conducting FPSO businesses. Delivery of FPSO projects on-time and within budget is now of critical importance. How can the FPSO community work collectively to improve project economics? What are the gaps in communication between oil companies and FPSO contractors that needs to be addressed in order to eliminate unnecessary costs? What are the steps to an enhanced, value- added partnership across the supply chain? How can we successfully reduce FPSO capital investments yet, maintain operational excellence and safety? These are questions that will be discussed at the Congress in 2016. Our Europe Congress in 2016 will see Shell, Premier Oil, SBM Offshore, MODEC, Tullow Oil, Teekay Offshore Production, Yinson Production and more taking the stage to share their experience and thought-leadership on the subject. In addition, for the first-time ever, the agenda will feature over 10 interactive panel discussions, a key stakeholder dialogue and working group roundtables, providing you with the best interaction and engagement with your peers. Be in the driver’s seat in 2016! With an expected turnout of 250+ participants attending to forge long-term partnerships and gain inspirations on sustainable FPSO strategies, this is an event you don’t want to miss. I look forward to your involvement in an exciting FPSO industry gathering in February 2016! • 10. PRE-CONFERENCEWORKSHOPS Tuesday, 23 February 2016 WORKSHOP A WORKSHOP B 0900-1200 FPSO Upcoming Projects, Construction Market & Tender (ITT) Processes In the current low oil price environment, the number of FPSO projects looking set to achieve FID is limited. In light of limited new business opportunities, it is important to know where the potential activities and clients are coming from and have an understanding on what you can do to submit successful bids. As operators and clients strive for the lowest price to make their projects economical, how can the contractors and service companies make the best out of the remaining limited opportunities and submit the most competitive bids? This workshop aims to discuss the ways to develop marginal fields in the most economical ways utilizing FPSO-based concepts. Discussion Points ¡ Investigating the potential size, schedule and location of global FPSO projects in the next 5 years ¡ Effective contracting tender processes from client and bidders point of view ¡ Oil companies vs. FPSO contractors’ philosophies in vendor selection ¡ Forming successful Joint Ventures in low oil price environment for bidding Who is this for? This workshop is designed for investors, project managers, contract engineers, and service, procurement, engineering and construction companies involved in the design, construction and operational phases of FPSO projects. 1300-1600 Maximizing FPSO Production Recovery & Uptime from an Operations Perspective As history shows, to survive low oil price periods, operators need to concentrate their focus on maximizing the recovery of hydrocarbons at the lowest possible costs. This can only be achieved by ensuring safe and continuous operation of the FPSO without any loss in the availability and reliability of the asset. While in some cases, preserving the design life is a challenge due to poor performance; in most cases it is possible to extend the life of the FPSO with adequate maintenance and inspection using the latest state-of-art technology. Discussion Points ¡ Reviewing new developments in the area of FPSO operations, maintenance and inspection ¡ What are the proven strategies in enhancing production volumes? ¡ FPSO life extension best practices and checklist: s Reliability of topsides system s Optimizing hull inspections s Maintaining and replacing mooring systems ¡ Could advances in IT tools help in improving maintenance and inspection?
