1) The student visited the Robotic Gallery at Science City in Ahmedabad which showcases various robots used for different purposes such as reception, military, precision work, companionship, and more. 2) They also visited the Indian Meteorological Department in Ahmedabad which uses weather balloons, evaporation pans, Stevenson screens, thermometers and rain gauges to collect weather data. 3) The last visit was to the National Forensic Science University in Gandhinagar which has departments focused on forensic science, behavioral science, research, training, and more. It also has facilities for cybersecurity training and ballistics testing.

Precision and industrial robots are used in a

very tight tolerances. They use sensors to
ensure that they are always on track.

The A1 robot dog from Unitree is a robot
that brings together artificial intelligence
and a dog-like companionship – in short –
a more capable and ‘friendly’ robot.

With a running speed of 11.88 km/hr, this
robot dog can jump, squat, lean, climb

Meteorological Centre Ahmedabad was established to
render quick and better meteorological services to the
Gujarat state. The Meteorological Observatory, Ahmedabad
was established on 18th January 1893 and the
Meteorological Centre, Ahmedabad was established in
October 1974.

13. WEATHER BALLOON
• There is a special type of Balloon used to collect
the data which are known as Weather Balloons
which are released every day twice in the
atmosphere.
• Each balloon once released cannot be retrieved
and costs around ₹10,000. These balloons are
filled with neoprene and contain highly advanced
sensors which measure temperature, wind
direction, intensity, humidity, etc.

14. EVAPORATION PAN
• A cylindrical container fabricated of galvanized
iron or other rust-resistant metal with a depth of
25.4 cm (10 in.) and a diameter of 121.9 cm (48
in.).
• The pan is accurately leveled at a site that is
nearly flat, well-sodded, and free from
obstructions.

15. STEVENSON SCREEN
• A Stevenson screen or instrument shelter is a shelter or an enclosure for
meteorological instruments against precipitation and direct heat radiation from
outside sources, while still allowing air to circulate freely around them.
• Stevenson screens may also be known as a cotton region shelter, an instrument
shelter, a thermometer shelter, a thermoscreen, or a thermometer screen. Its
purpose is to provide a standardized environment in which to measure temperature,
humidity, dewpoint, and atmospheric pressure. It is white to reflect direct solar
radiation.

16. DRY AND WET BULB
TEMPERATURE
• The Dry Bulb temperature usually referred to as air
temperature, is the air property that is most commonly used.
• It is called a "Dry Bulb" because the air temperature is
indicated by a thermometer not affected by the moisture of
the air.
• The wet bulb temperature is always lower than the dry bulb
temperature but will be identical with 100% relative humidity
(the air is at the saturation line).

• A rain gauge (also known as an udometer, pluvia metior, pluviometer, ombrometer, and
hyetometer) is an instrument used by meteorologists and hydrologists to gather and measure the
amount of liquid precipitation over a predefined area, over a while.
• It is used for determining the depth of precipitation (usually in mm) that occurs over a unit area
and thus measuring rainfall amount.

It provides tools that help strengthen the stability, security and performance of cyberinfrastructures and IT systems used by
government and defense agencies. The setup includes servers with high configuration and a separate network that can help
simulate the cyber-attack and its response.

• The Blue Team are the Defenders.
• A blue team is a group of individuals who perform an analysis of information systems
to ensure security, identify security flaws, verify the effectiveness of each security
measure, and to make certain all security measures will continue to be effective after
implementation.
• They provide security against cyber-attacks. Also, their job is to make sure that no
one is able to penetrate their system.

• The Red Team is the Attackers.
• They challenge the Blue Team to improve its effectiveness by assuming an adversarial
role or point of view.
• By assuming the role of an attacker, they show organizations what could be backdoors
or exploitable vulnerabilities that pose a threat to their cybersecurity

24. CYBER DEFENSE CENTER
• The Center supports Digital India initiative to train
and test the digital systems.
• It helps to improve the ability to identify advanced
attacks and also immediately mitigate these attacks.
• The students understand the value of security
technologies working together to prevent advanced
or zero-day threats hitting the network through
immediate reprogramming of all network sensors.

• This center is the authorized center for the
testing and reporting of ballistic resistant

• The ballistic range renders timely services for the
defense establishments and various agencies of
