Glass was an optical head-mounted display developed by Google to produce a universal wearable computer. It allowed hands-free access to information and communication through voice commands. However, Glass faced criticism around issues of privacy, safety, and social interactions due to its camera and recording capabilities. It was also expensive and had technical limitations. As a result, Google halted consumer sales of Glass in 2015 due to lack of demand.

In April 2012, GOOGLE released photos and a concept video
named:- Project Glass: One Day...,
The video starts with the Glass booting up, followed by icons
flashing into the wearer's field of vision.
He then checks his calendar, the weather, listens to music,
and more. Never before had the public heard of such a device
It was a good start for Google, which clearly wanted to
generate buzz.

➔In year 2014 Approximately 0.8 million Google
Glass units will sell according to a study released
by BI Intelligence.
➔In 2015 and 2016 sales are also estimated to be
relatively weak.
➔Expert estimated -21 million units per year till
2018
9. Drawbacks of THE GLASS
➢ cannot be used by those who are having some issue with their
eyes .
➢ cannot use while driving as it can cause distraction while driving.
➢ can be easily broken as it is a sensitive device.
➢ Technologies used like face recognition and camera can be
misused .
➢ Google glasses that are of consumers concerns are the cost of the
glasses, the track pad, social interactions, privacy and recording
issues.
10. WHY GOOGLE GLASS SHOULD BE BANNED
● The product garnered considerable criticism with concern about price, safety and
privacy.
● Glass seemed to let the “cool” factor often associated with successful technology
product rollouts.
● The company wanted to capitalise on the hype and potential instead of selling the
reality.
● The technology required lengthy battery life ,improvement in image recognition and
lot of data.
● It was not comfortable to wear a camera around our face everyday.
