Google Glass displays information in a smartphone-like, hands-free format. Wearers communicate with the Internet via natural
languagevoice commands.
4. Why use Google Glass ?
1 Health Care
DrChrono, california is based on e-medical record company and
has developed application for the device which is named as
“wearable health record”. This can be used by the doctors who
registered the DrChrono app for glass. This app is used to record
a consultation with complete permission of patients. In the
electronic medical record the patients videos, notes, photos are
stored based on the cloud storagetechnique and it can be shared
with patient when they needed.

7. Eye-Tap Technology
★ An EyeTap is a concept for a wearable computing device
that is worn in front of the eye that acts as a camera to
record the scene available to the eye as well as a display
to superimpose computer-generated imagery on the
original scene available to the eye.
★ Eyetap acts as a camera for capturing pictures and
audios that is seen by the user and convert this to
computer and save this for future reference.
★ This is completely based on the user’s eye because the
eye works as a monitor for capturing or recording
pictures.
8. Wearable Computing
★ It is an electronic device and also known as body borne
computers. This technology is specifically used in the field of
media and information technologies.
★ It provides a direct interaction between user and the
computer and there is no need of any external devices to
be in the mode of on and off.
★ It has the ability of multitasking (i.e this system can perform
one or more tasks at a time).
★ In Google Glass, an optical head-mounted display controlled by
gestures.
★ It is used most often in research that focuses on behavioral
modeling, health monitoring systems, IT and media
development, where the person wearing the computer actually
moves or is otherwise engaged with his or her surroundings.
9. Bluetooth
★ Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology
standard that is used for exchanging data
between fixed and mobile devices over short
distances.
★ Google glass has the facility of communicating
through bluetooth.
★ Google glasses can eliminate headphones
because the vibrations through the headphones
to the earpieces will distract or lower the level
of communication.
10. 4G Technology
★ 4G is the fourth generation of broadband
cellular network technology,succeeding 3G,
and preceding 5G.
★ Each generation of wireless cellular technology
has introduced increased bandwidth speeds
and network capacity.4G users get speeds of up
to 100 Mbps, while 3G only promised a peak
speed of 14 Mbps.
★ It provide Data security for mobile devices,
computers.
11. Android Operating System
Android is open source and Google releases the code
under the Apache License. Software to be freely modified
and distributed by device manufacturers, wireless carriers
and enthusiast developers allowed by the open source
code and latitudinarian license.
Google Glass operates same as our smartphones, they
have their own android OS and some pre-installed
applications which helps to monitor, perform and store, all
the instructions work given by the users and done by the
Google Glass.
12. How Google Glass Works ?
Google glass’s design is embedded with small chips camera, video display,
battery, and speaker. It hand free display works on the android and connects a
phone through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Small chips cameras are used to capture
the images and scenes in front of the eyes. Hand free information is displayed
in pop up manner using video display.
WORKING :-
1
. | The micro projector on the glass, projects the image.
2
. | Then the image is redirected to eye.
3
. | The information is displayed over the wearer field of vision.
4
.
| If the user wants to transmit the data that can be photo or videos of
what wearer it seeing, can be done through the build camera.
5
.
| To transfer the information between devices the device can be
connected to smartphone.
14. Google Glass Components
Video Display :Its options with the tiny video display screen that’s
display the crop up hands free data.
Camera :It additionally has the front facing video camera with that
photo and video is taken in it.
Speaker :Google glasses are designed to be hands free wearable
device which will be build or receive calls too. Therefore a speaker is
additionally designed for the ear.
Button :A single button on the spect of the frame the glasses to figure
with the physical bit input.
Microphone :A mic is additionally place in, which will take the voice
commands of the user. This mic is a additionally used for having telecom
communication.

16. Advantages of Google Glass
★ The ability to answer emails and text messages using voice dictation.
★ The sound creation takes place in case of vibrations and is a less abrasive which is compared to
earphones.
★ It is mainly used for the purpose of navigation, social and networking purposes.
★ It can take photographs and record videos.
★ The ability to have translations streamed straight to the wearer through the screen.
★ Reminders to complete certain chores or tasks with an added visual aspect that will prompt a
notification to appear on the user's screen every time they look at a particular object.
★ The ability to respond to facial and head movements, such as allowing the user to tilt their head to
scroll through a page or operate the device with eye movements.
17. Disadvantages of Google Glass
★ EYES PROBLEM :-A person who already has a vision problem or wears glasses every day cannot use Google Glass.
★ NOT USED WHILEDRIVING:-Driving while wearing Google Glass is not an option, since the image, video or data
will be in the user’s face, which may distract them.
★ NOT EVERYONE ISON BOARD :-Businesses could follow the movie industry in banning Google Glass from inside
the theaters. Many people are skeptical about Glass wearers because it may result in being recorded without their
knowledge.
★ EASILYBREAKABLE :-After all, it’s just glass and not bulletproof, so it can be broken easily.

video and image can be captured without the other person’s consent.
★ NOT WEARABLE INACTIVITIES:- Running, dancing or similar activities cannot be done with common glasses
18. Future Scope of Google Glass
Google believes, Google Glass is bright and the device itself is “incredibly compelling”. Obviously, th
would be an increase in demand of the Google Glass, which would be leading to increase in demand of:-
★ More Eye-Movement Focused Applications
★ New Mode of Advertising
★ A Greater Need For Voice Recognition Technology
★ The Small Screen Will Force Those ToAdapt ToSpace Constraints
★ Less Switching Of Applications
★ Fashion :Many Designs Available
