This document outlines a study assessing biomedical waste generation rates and management systems in Lalitpur, Nepal hospitals. The study aims to: 1) assess waste generation rates, 2) analyze existing management practices, 3) determine knowledge/awareness of individuals involved, and 4) identify environmental and health risks of biomedical waste. The methodology describes studying randomly selected Lalitpur healthcare facilities from April to October 2019 to review literature, assess waste, survey staff, interview managers, analyze data, and report findings. The estimated budget is NPR 61,000. The expected outcomes are assessments of waste generation rates and management practices, and determinations of knowledge/awareness levels.
