Purple tea is a naturally occurring purple variety of camellia sinensis grown at high elevations in Kenya. It has numerous health benefits such as anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties, antioxidant activity, improved cardiovascular, liver and immune health, prevention of diabetes and hair loss, and anticancer effects. Purple tea contains higher levels of antioxidants and nutrients than other teas, owing to its reddish-purple color from high anthocyanin content, which provides protection against many illnesses.
