2. • Cloud is a metaphor for a network of servers on the internet.
• It a collection of servers that are setup and managed by companies, so
that other organizations and individuals can rent them as and when
required.
What is Cloud?

• Pay as per usage without having to think about maintaining hardware.
• Improved Security
• Innovative and use advanced tools and services provided by cloud
providers.
What are the benefits of Cloud?

• AI and Machine Learning: Vertex AI, BigQuery
• Compute: Compute Engine,
• Databases: Cloud SQL
• Security: IAM
• Storage: Cloud Storage
• Serverless Computing: Cloud Functions, App Engine, Cloud Run

5. • A virtual machine is a piece of software that virtualizes a part of your
hardware.
• In simple terms, virtual machines creates a copy of a part your
hardware, but separate from the rest of the hardware, and the user can
run softwares on it isolated from the rest of the hardware.
What is a Virtual Machine (VM) ?

6. • Since a VM virtualizes a part of your hardware, it means that multiple
VMs can run on the same piece of hardware isolated from each other.
• This allows multiple users to share the same hardware, and at the same
time maintain the privacy of their data, as well as change the
provisioned resources as per need.
• A single computer can thus, with the help of VMs, be able be the host to
softwares of a large number of users at the same time.
What is the benefit of a VM?

7. How does Cloud operate?
• Cloud uses VMs to virtualize a part of their hardware, and run your
applications on them.
• This helps them host the applications of a large number of users, and at
the same time ensure their privacy, thus reducing cost of maintenance
without losing functionality.
• Also, VMs enable them to scale in either direction as per requirement.

Everyone will get a mail for an invite to join the
WhatsAPP Group for the event.
We’ll share the form link and a code in the group. The
code has to be used while filling the form.
There are a few DOs and a lot of DONTs

21. First the DOs
● Create a new Skill Boost Account on Qwicklabs
○ Account created before 3rd of November, 2022 will be rejected
○ Accounts with any labs done or attempted will be rejected.
● Fill the enrollment form carefully
○ Read the form thoroughly before submitting
○ Duplicates will be rejected
○ Any error prone response will be rejected
○ Make sure to use the code we provide

22. The DON'Ts
● Do not share the enrollment Form with anyone else
○ We are legally binded by GDSC to ensure the safety on the form.
○ Sharing the form will invalidate not just your response, but everyone else’s
too.
● Do not put any incorrect information in the form
● Do not share the code that we provide.
○ The code only works along with the form and only for people who are from
NITS.
